Introduction
Management information system provides a data for the company needed by lower-
level managers, senior administrators and boards of directors in decision making. An MIS
is a database that is computerized to help in administrative, financial and programmatic
information made in such a way that it produces reports regularly for every level of
management. We focus on a manufacturing organization looking deeper on management of
inventory (Fernandez, Zaino, & Ahmad, 2018).
Main purpose
Its main purpose is to give feedback to managers on their own performances and
shows the actual data for the organization against planned results and outcomes for the
year. It is a measure of progress against the goals set. The four components of the MIS
(manufacturing organization )include:
 Internal records- for example inventory, manufacturing decision support,
customer orders, recievables and payables,and customer orders
 Manufacturing decision support system- example include, quantity for
production, inventory sales and order levels.
 Manufacturing intelligent systems- for an automated manufacturing system
 Manufacturing research
