2MANAGEMENT Introduction: The paper is focused in the description of my individual leadership characteristics. The paper analyses the leadership theories for effectively describing the qualities of the efficient and good leader. Apart from this, the paper also discusses regarding the comments of the industry guest for formulating the characteristics of an efficient leader. In addition to this, the paper describes the in class activities that I have conducted for the development of myskillsandcompetenciesinleading.Thepaperalsoevaluatestheresultsofthe psychometric tests for the effective elaboration of the strengths and the weakness of mine in becoming an efficient and quality leader. Apart from this, the paper also assesses the assessment feedback for analysing my performances that are related to the development of my leadership. Description of the leadership theories: From the theories of leadership, I am able to understand the fact that the ability to inspire the confidence and the support amongst the people is the fundamental characteristics of an efficient leader. Apart from this, I am able to understand that the importance of the productivity, quality and the satisfaction of the employees in being the success factors of the leadership and in addition to this, the theories have played a crucial role in educating me regarding the elements of the leadership process which are the context of the situation, the group members and the leader. From the theories of the leadership, I have understood that the leadership is a sort of partnership between the leaders and the members of the team. I think that the success of the leadership depends on both the parties and the balance of power between the membersand the leader is significantlycrucial in making sure that the managementoftheleadershipiseffectivelyconducted.Thetheoriesenabledmeto understand the importance of the balance and I was able to understand the fact that the
3MANAGEMENT imbalance in the power will lead us to a state of authoritarianism and that will have a negative impact of the decision making. Apart from this, the theories of leadership is able to put strong emphasis on the qualities of the leaders and I am able to understand that the seniority is not the important parameter responsible in deciding the leaders rather the capability and the leadership qualities of the individuals is the main parameter. In addition to this, the theories enabled me to have the idea of the leadership being a shared responsibility. From the theories, I understood that an efficient leader will be able to lead his or her team with the active participation of the other members and will also be responsible for motivating and inspiring his or her followers. Online Resources: From the comments of BCG’s Roselinde Torres, I am able to understand the fact that the success factors of the leaders, in modern business world, are significantly dependent on the leader’s capability in managing the unpredictability and the uncertainty of the market. As with the impact of the globalization, the modern business market is subjected to notable amount of changes, the leaders are in need to accept the reality and strategize in such a manner which effectively covers the varying parameters of the business market. In addition to this,theinterviewsessionofRoselindeTorresisofgreatsignificanceformein understanding the necessity of the leaders in being ready to manage their style of leading for effectively managing the unknown possibilities of the business environment. Her interview enabled me to have the idea of the fact that the corporate training is not always the much required activity in developing or framing a leader rather, the necessity of the development of the leaders lies in three different questions which are the directions in which an individual will look to anticipate the change, the measure of the diversification of your network and the intention or the courage of an individual in abandoning their past. I was able to learn the importance of the supply chain and the need of maintain a good relationship with the suppliers for the improvement of the business and for increasing the flexibility of the organizations in terms of designing the products in accordance to the preferences of the customers. Two challenges that are addressed by the guest speaker are the absence of the techniques of quantitative measurement of the customer satisfaction and the assessment of the

In addressing the challenges, the guest speaker was observed to elaborate the effectiveness of the qualitative measurement of the customer satisfaction. In class activities: From the completion of the interpersonal checklist, I am understood that I have capability to communicate in an effective manner. In modern business world, the effective communicationwillbeakeyfactorofmyleadership.Thecapabilityofeffective communication will provide me an added advantage in managing the conflicts amongst the members of the organization in an efficient manner. In addition to this, it will also allow me to strengthen to bond with the other employees inside the organization. From the activity of “Promotion debate”, I am able to understand the importance of the selection in the top positions of the organizations. From the discussion, I understood that, it is better to place an insider to a position rather than the outsider as that has the potential to minimize the barriers of the change inside the organization. Apart from this, an insider has the capability and the ability to understand an organization in a better manner in comparison to an outsider and that provides him or her a competitive advantage in the effective management of the conflicts inside the organization and in motivating the employees inside the organizations. On the other hand, with the selection of an outsider for the top positions of organizations, there is high possibility of employee unrest inside the organization which can lead the organization towards a state of chaos. Apart from this, it will be difficult for an outsider to be aware of the capabilities of the employees so that he or she be able to allocate the tasks on the basis of the expertise of the employees.
6MANAGEMENT From the activities, I understood that three main reasons of people leaving their organizations are the job dissatisfactions due to the inappropriate pay structure, inappropriate work time characteristics and inappropriate rewarding policy. The inappropriate rewarding policy is one of the main reason for the generation of the dissatisfaction owing to the absence of the proper recognition for the good work of the employees. On the other hand, I understood that the ineffective pay structure has tremendous detrimental impact over the intention of the employees in continuing their operation in a particular organization. The increasing work pressure of the employees has the potential to create considerable amount of job stress amongst the employees which also has the potential to trigger employees towards leaving their jobs. Hence, from the analysis, I understood that an efficient leader is required to have the capability of forming an effective rewarding policy along with the pay structure that motivates his or her employees and in addition to this, the leader needs to have the quality of appropriate allocation of the tasks to minimize the intensity of the work pressure. Assessment feedback: Considering the topic of the assessment feedback, the assessment that I completed was based on three different initiatives which are the performance related initiatives, culture relatedinitiativesandtheengagementrelatedinitiatives.Accordingtomyassessor’s feedback, I performed well in the assignment and was able to portray a good understanding of the various Human resource strategies such as the performance management, employee engagement and the effective management of the culture. However, my assessor commented regarding the scope of improvement in some of the parts of the assessment. According to the feedback of my assessor, I was in need to properly answer the specific questions of the assessment outline regarding the techniques to measure the success of the initiatives and the process to identify the culture of the organizations. Analysis of the Psychometric Test Results: From the results of the psychometric test, it is pretty visible that I have the quality of being warm to everyone and that plays a crucial role in leading my employees with a happy face. With a score of 2.1, I consider myself to be an average infidel in the reasoning aspect, however, I also think that I have the scope of developing further in the mentioned aspect. A similar rating in the aspect of the emotional stability clearly portrays the fact that I have a lot improve in managing my emotions while leading or making crucial decisions. With a score of 2.3, I consider myself to be partially dominant and that clearly shows that I am assertive in cases where I feel to be. Apart from this, one of the crucial characteristics of my leadership is the display of my energy in leading my teams which plays a crucial role in motivating my employees as well. Hence in the liveliness aspect, I have a score of 2.4. Apart from this, my style of leading is significantly dependent on the rules and the regulations that are set and that is pretty evident with the score of 2.8 in the rule consciousness aspect. Social boldness and the sensitivity are the aspects in which I lack in a significant manner and these are the two major areas for improvement. Apart from this, my score of 2 and 2.2 in the vigilance and the abstractedness aspects respectively portrays my power of imagination and the vision that is much required in leading my teams. My visionary leadership and the openness to change make me easily accessible for everyone and that is pretty evident with the score of 2.4 in the apprehension aspect. With a score of 2.7, I prefer to set high standards for myself and manage my team for the achievement of the better efficiency.
8MANAGEMENT Conclusion: On a concluding note, it is pretty visible that the results of the psychometric tests and the knowledge that I have gained through the in class activities and through analysing the leadership theories, are capable of placing me in the position of an efficient leader. The assessment feedback plays a crucial role in defining my capability as a leader. In addition to this, the online resources that I have accessed and the inputs of the guest lecturer have the capability in helping me in improving my skills and capabilities in the position of an efficient leader.
