INTRODUCTION
Management and operation is important for achieving objectives business organisation in
targeted period of time. It is assess that operation management assists in handling various
activities of Organisation in improved manner. This report is undertaken on the company named
as Tesco. It is determined as a famous company which is situated in UK. They provide a wide
variety of goods and services such as convenience to its user for fulfilling their needs. In
reference of groceries, Tesco operate their business in approx 11 countries around the globe. The
organisation focuses on bringing their organisation in US in 2013 and also explores their
Organisation in two different areas such as Finance, clothing and internet facility and so on.
They introduce innovative store which is named as Jack Store. The main purpose of business
organisation is to target large number of customer for achieving profit in future period of time.
The primary purpose of this assignment is to use the style of leadership for conducting different
functions in good manner. They also provide information that must be related to various models
of leadership and Management in improved manner (Choi, Cheng and Zhao, 2016).

Introduction to the company
The management team focus on different policies which offer direction to its
subordinates in order to perform different responsibilities. In given assignment, it is necessary to
have a proper understanding regarding environment that help in operating different operation
organisation in an appropriate manner. Tesco provide various ranges of goods and services to its
customer in order to satisfy their needs. In reference of groceries, Tesco expand their business
around the globe with operating its organisation in approx 11 countries. The company also bring
their organisation in US in the year of 2013 and also spread their business in different areas such
as clothing, furniture as well as financial services and so on.
The leader is determined as an individual person who focuses on influencing its
subordinate of organisation. In discourse of Tesco the leader emphasize on motivating its staff in
appropriate manner. And also they focus is on achieving goal and objective in pre-decided period
of time. It is the responsibility of leader to assign work to its staff member and also emphasized

on conducting operation by its employees in short span of time. It also increases the productivity
as well as profit margin of organisation.
Role of leader
The leader emphasize on achieving goal as well as objective of business organisation in
stipulated period of time.
Moreover the leader provide clear image in respect of vision of organisation for
performing various tasks (Price and Forrest, 2016).
Characteristic of leader
It is important for leader to have good communication skills for encouraging subordinate
for performing their work.
Moreover the leader must be confident for motivating its employees that help in
increasing productivity level in future period of time.
The manager is considered as an individual person who focuses on planning, organising
staffing, directing as well as controlling the whole process of organisation. It increases
experience level of individual person and also their performance in future period of time.
Role of manager
In context of Tesco, the manager emphasized on achieving vision as well as mission of
business organisation in targeted period of time.
The manager is significant for providing appropriate information to its employees in
respect of policies as well as procedure.
