INTRODUCTION
Organization behavior is considered as the study of both individuals and group
performance as well as activity within an entity. It is also considered as a systematic study
regarding application of knowledge about how groups and individuals act in an entity where they
work. It focuses on the behavior of the people within their organizational roles. The study
focuses on human behavior within workplace as well as also determines its effects on
performance, Job structure, motivation, communication and leadership. Present Report focuses
on selected model of leadership as well as management behavior within terms of their
effectiveness and performance and also focuses on some examples related to it. Furthermore,
Report also focuses on team working theories in order to improves the management skills of
people.
MAIN BODY
By using selected models of management behaviour and leaderships
Hotel behaviour reflects the behaviour of staff members and existing consumers all
together, it is considered as field study not just a discipline. Different management and
leadership models are considered as important aspect for identifying suitable goal or objective by
working with human resources (König, Graf-Vlachy and Little, 2020). Damon Dene hotel,
general Manager can include managerial values in context of performance effectiveness,
operational efficiency and sustainable innovation. This will help for improving the entire
business operation and function in proper manner.
Leadership and management behaviour can be defined as guidance that suggest the specific
behaviour to use in specific environment or situation (Campagna, Eisenkraft and Pery, 2019). In
additional, it often use a graphic representation to represent the essential leadership behaviour.
There are different type of management behaviour models and leaderships, which always
supporting for general manager to manager or control the particular situation or condition
effectively.
Situational model of leadership

As per selecting the situational model by “Wayne” as general manager in Damson Dene hotel.
The situation model is applicable in leadership when “Wayne” performing the significant duties
in the hotel (Durst, Hinteregger and Zieba, 2019). Typically, situation model can be categorised
into different two ways: Supervision and arousal require to provide the direction of other staff
members within specific situation.
Supervision: Wayne Bartholomew (general manager) will use this situation leadership
approach to interact with other employee regarding business operation and function. In Damson
Dene hotel, manager will perform the different tasks to determine the level of employee’s skills
and knowledge (Dăneci-Pătrău, 2019). This is primary goal of Wayne to eliminate the
misconnection between staff members. Typically, Wayne can be identified the certain issues so
that requires to give a proper direction in particular situation. This is reason why Wayne use
situation model to promote the awareness among staff members within hotel.
Arousal (Supporting): Wayne as general manager can be determined the specific level of
knowledge, skill of staff members. it is always supporting the other stakeholders to improve their
performance within task management (Maqbool and Akhtar, 2020). At certain level, Wayne can
motivate or inspire the staff members to use innovative idea in business. However, there are too
much over or under stimulate behaviour of client. In this way, it can be understand that Wayne as
General Manager focus on the cognitive tasks as lower arousal required as over-simulation
which may occur.
Deming cycle/ Model of Management
It is one of the most useful management model that mainly used by Wayne (general
manager) in order to increase the production and sales of hotel in global marketplace. When
general manager can use Deming cycle model for including plan, do, check and act of different
parameters (Nyberg, Cragun and Schepker, 2020). It help for Wayne to check out the big project
in manageable sub deadline in proper manner. It may support for improving the behaviour of
other staff members towards particular task within Damson dene hotel (Gravina and et.al., 2018).

Wayne Bartholomew have been used the Deming cycle as management model to improve the
overall business processes in global marketplace.
This type of Deming cycle of model is considered as root level of model in term of
leadership with managerial orientation of support. Wayne Bartholomew will use this model to
focus on the job performance, participation of staff member in hotel. The employment
requirement that met in status and recognition (Manuti and Giancaspro, 2019). In this way,
Wayne can easily identify the performance result is awakened drives. This model is basically
dependent on the leadership which give a prior of employee grow and accomplish the job in the
interest of hotel. Being a general manager, Wayne is assist the other employee job performance
within participation of different organization’s operations and functions.

Ensuring all security facilities and maintain the service up to mark.
Ensure all compliance with proper rules and regulation.
An individual in General Manager Role of “Wayne” is generalist who is familiar with all hotel
business and coordinate with the processes, operations (Lyskova, 2019). Wayne must speak with
different staff members, establish coordination between accounting, sales, marketing, research
and development, human resources.
Salary
Starting salaries for general manager are around £19,000 but it depend on the skill,
knowledge and experience where how can deal the business in complex situation or condition
(Ristianti, Putrajaya and Fathurrochman, 2020). Wayne as experienced person so that hotel will
be offering high level salary package because of their performance.
Wayne have established the coordination with small hotels regarding the business
policies and procedures. Usually, salaries rise on the basis of performance and progression but
will be lower with small hotel (Ristianti, Putrajaya and Fathurrochman, 2020). Salaries of Wayne
general manager is higher £20,000 to £35,000. Additionally, hotel will provide the benefits,
advantage such as life assurance schemes, accommodation facilities, and flexible working time
intervals.
Qualification
Although hotel industry area of work is open “Wayne” to change their location, place of
particular cities or country. It can be possible for Wayne to select specific business management,
leisure, tourism or travel (Sujatha, 2020). Wayne have an experience about field of hotel
manager within Damson Dene Hotel. In this way, it always given the more preference on the
basis of their highest qualification in Hotel Management field.

Here, Wayne can form team with those and work with them in effective way. He can engage

Storming: At this step of chosen model, new ideas are generated functionally with new
ideas explored onto larger scenarios of creativity and innovative fundamentals worked on.

effective way. He can solve problems as well and develop relation with others.
Norming: facilitation of roles are highly active within this phase where working focus is
pertained into factors of wide determinants, higher functional advancement which enhances new
working goals. In this Wayne can solve his difference with others. He can see progress of team
members and then interact with them to take feedback (Cheng, Wei and Lin, 2019). Then, he can
support them in completion of task. This will be useful in improving team work skills and people
management skills.
Performing: Clear vision, purpose and objectives are finalised within this step where all
employees are motivated to work for the set standards. In this Wayne can set structure of team
and analyse performance. By this he can work with them by involving and taking decision as
well.
Adjourning : The last phase of theory is adjourning. In this stage, most of group’s aims
have been accomplished within firm after passing above stages (Hadi, Tjahjono and Palupi,
2020). Emphasis is on finishing up final activities and outcomes. As work load is accomplished,
individual workers may be reassigned to other units. In this Wayne can create bond with his team
members and then team can be adjourned. It will improve his team skills.

From the above it had been concluded that management and leadership plays a vital role in
managing operations of hotel. There are several types of management as well as leadership
models such as scientific management theory, human relation theory, social relation theory and
many more. Moreover, various leadership theories are situational, transformational, participative
and many more. With the use of Tuckman team model Wayne he can improve his people
management skills.
