Self-introduction
I am a student of Apic College. Currently I am pursuing Business and Project
management course. In future, my ambition is to become a project manager. One of the most
important goals is to increase professional knowledge through training. Along with this, I
also intend to increase the earnings and improve my performance in the work processes and
maintaining the stability in the professional relationships. One of my other goals is to gain
new experiences for unleashing my leadership skills, abilities and competencies.
Megatrends and challenges
I am aware of the shifts in the environmental, economic and social conditions. In this,
I can point the major possibilities regarding the achievement of stability and sustaining the
future. As per the revelations of Csiro.au(2019), one of the possibilities is “more from less”,
which I think relates to the shrinkage in the employment opportunities in the current
competitive scenario of the market. In order to attain flexible employment opportunities, I
need to improve my personal skills, abilities and competencies. In this process, I would be
able to gain acquaintance with my capabilities. At some time, it would make me feel that I
am losing the opportunities. However, with constant dedication, perseverance and
commitment, I would be able to preserve my resources and capabilities. In this context, I can
cite the example of the depleting flora and fauna from the environment. The major drive
behind this is the exploitation of the resources by the humans for fulfilling their needs. Here,
my question is who would take the charge of preserving the ecological biodiversity in such an
alarming state? This issue has compelled me to take up the issue, generating within me an
interest towards taking environmental science as a research topic for project.

After I have identified the skills and competency gap that I have, I have considered
including certain important skills development activities in my personal development plan. In
this plan I will focus on attaining internship programs offered by the company that can be
supportive in terms of increasing my competency level in every major activity of my
workplace operations. Moreover, I have observed that I have low leadership and Socio-
cultural competency in which I have an opportunity to develop the competency through
developing skills of teamwork, self-management and engagement with other activities during
my internship program.

After I have identified the skills and competency gap that I have, I have considered
including certain important skills development activities in my personal development plan. In
this plan I will focus on attaining internship programs offered by the company that can be
supportive in terms of increasing my competency level in every major activity of my
workplace operations. Moreover, I have observed that I have low leadership and Socio-
cultural competency in which I have an opportunity to develop the competency through
developing skills of teamwork, self-management and engagement with other activities during
my internship program.
