INTRODUCTION
With the increasing globalisation the expansion of companies in different countries have
increased leading to a diverse workforce belonging to different nations, religion, culture,
experiences and backgrounds etc. working together in company (Kim, 2015). This increases the
need of a working environment which gives all the employees equal rights and opportunities to
grow in companies so that they can use their efforts in order to achieve company goals. In this
report Aston Martin which is a British independent manufacturer of luxurious cars founded in the
year 1913 and is headquartered in England, UK. In this report a research will be conducted so
that appropriate initiatives can be taken by Aston Martin so that a diverse and inclusive
workplace can be created in company along with some recommendations on implementing these
strategies. Further a reflection will be done by the researcher so as to reflect on the information
and findings.

Project aims and objectives
In order to conduct a research in an effective manner it is important that the aims and
objectives which are to achieved are determined so that a specific direction can be set for the
researcher to follow so that the project gets completed within a specified time and stipulated
budget (Kendrick, 2015).
Aim: “To determine the strategies and initiatives which can be taken by companies so
that a diverse and inclusive working environment can be built.” A study on Aston Martin
Lagonda Global Holding plc.
Objective:
 To determine the importance of having an equal and diverse workforce in company.
 To ascertain the initiatives and strategies which can help the company in building an
inclusive and diverse working environment.

 To identify the ways in which such initiatives and strategies can be implemented in
company.

 How is an equal and diverse workforce important for company?
 What can be the initiatives and strategies which can be taken by Aston Martin so that it
can build an inclusive and diverse working environment?
 What are the ways in that can help in correct implementation of such strategies and
initiatives?
Project management plan:
Project management plan is a plan which is devised so that the execution of project can
be done in an efficient manner by listing all the deliverables and requirements which will help in
completing the project on time. This is a tool which can help in determining the cost, scope,
quality, time etc. which will be needed to complete the project so that researcher can take
effective steps in order to accumulate all the components which can help in proper execution of
project (Hass, 2017).
Cost: This help in determining the total cost which will be required in executing each
activity of project so that high quality of results can be obtained. This component also helps in
setting aside sufficient budget by researcher for each activity so that there is no lack of funds that
will be required to be executed during project.

Scope: This component is required to determine the specific project goals, deliverables,
costs, deadlines etc. during making a project management plan. This component will help the

for the company so that it can be completed efficiently (Ong, Wang and Zainon, 2016).

Quality: This component determines the authenticity and reliability of information which
is collected by the way of conducting the research. It is important that the quality of research is
kept high so that highly efficient results can be drawn through research which can help in
achieving project goals in an efficient manner. Researcher thus must collect data from reliable
and relevant sources so that high quality of research can be done.
Time: This is related with the total time which is required to complete the project in order
to achieve the desired results. It is important to determine the project time so that the project can
be completed within a specific period of time. The researcher will require a total time of 3
months (Artto, Ahola and Vartiainen, 2016).
Resources: All the tangible and intangible assets which will be required to execute the
research needs to be determined so that they can be assimilated and used in a desired manner to
derive efficient results. Team member, research tools, sample population etc. will be required by
the researcher to complete the research in an effective manner.
Communication: It is important that effective communication is established during the
complete project so that flow of information among team members can be done efficiently and
desired results can be achieved. Various tools like mobiles, laptops, computer etc, can help in
establishing effective communication during the project (Lientz and Rea, 2016).
Risk: These are the uncertainties related with occurrence or non-occurrence with specific
events which can affect the quality of project and also affect its completion of time and budget.
These risks must be pre-determined so that effective steps can be taken to minimise the negative
impacts of these risks on the project.
Gantt chart: It is a tool which helps in depicting all the activities in horizontal lines
against the time which is required to complete them so that the tasks actually completed within
that period of time can be compared. This help in scheduling all the activities related to project
so that they can be completed within specified.

Work break down structure: It is a project management tool which helps in breaking
the complete project in smaller and manageable components so that project team can find it easy
to manage the complete project. This tool is a deliverable-oriented breakdown of a project which
help in managing the complete project so that each component can be separately completed
leading to completion of complete project within a certain period of time.

Research: It is a systematic investigation done about a certain topic by finding information
about the topic in various sources like books, journals, internet, physical research etc. so that a
deep knowledge related to the topic can be generated and facts can be established (Lian and Jia,
2016).
Methods of research:
Qualitative research: In this research the data is collected directly from the market by
asking open-ended questions or conversations so that deep information can be gained on the
topic being researched. This help in gaining knowledge about the thoughts of sample population
on the topic which can help in gaining vast information about the topic (Bożek and Werner,
2018).
Quantitative research: This method helps in gathering mathematical, computational and
statistical information from various sources so that the data which is collected can be interpreted
by using diagrams, graphs, tables etc. Through this method correct and accurate information can
be gathered as the data collected can be represented in a form that can help in making
interpretation so that efficient results can be drawn.
Sources of quantitative data collection:

Primary source: These are the sources from where information is collected for the first
time by researcher which help in gathering reliable information as the researcher directly goes to
the source to gather required information. Questionnaires, interviews etc. help in gathering
information from the sources firsthand and without the bias of other researchers which increases
the authenticity and reliability of information so collected (Susmanschi and Ruse, 2018).
Secondary source: These are the sources which help in collecting information which is
not being collected for the first time like through books, journals, internet articles etc. As these
sources contain information of other authors they may be biased and also outdated which affects
the overall quality of information so gathered.
Sampling: It is a process of selecting a few number of people from a large size of population
having common characteristics so that the information collected from sample population can be
applied to the complete large population size. In order to collect information the researcher in

followed in Aston Martin:
 Increasing motivational speaker seminars so that equality in workplace can be promoted.
 Improving recruitment strategy so that no discrimination is done in selecting workers
having different characteristics.
 Increasing employee engagement in company so that they can be encouraged to
participate in decision making (Newton, 2016).

Reflection
The research which i carried out was on the topic of strategies and initiatives which can be
taken by companies so that an inclusive and diverse workforce can be created in companies. the
research was conducted on Aston Martin so that the company can be benefitted by equality and
diversity in workplace and also its productivity and profitability in market can be increased.
During this research i used various research tools and techniques so that the research can be
completed within time and stipulated budget. During the research i was able to enhance my
research skills which can help me in getting future research projects which is beneficial for my
personal and professional growth. I faced certain problems while the project like time
management, resource utilisation, team management etc. which i solved by using WBS and
taking guidance from my teachers and mentors so that these can be efficiently solved.

CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from this report that equality and diversity in workplace plays an
important role in the growth and progress of company in competitive marketplace. The research
helped in determining various strategies and initiatives which can be used by companies so that
an inclusive workplace can be created. Training and development programmes, seminars etc. can
be used by companies so that they can have an effective working environment where all the
workers can work together and can integrate their efforts to achieve company goals.
