INTRODUCTION
This project report discusses about the impact of digital technology in a small business
operations of the business. When the companies use digital technologies in operating the
activities of the company it introduces new ways to conduct them. The use of digitalisation will
also assists the companies in finding opportunities in the management of operation by finding
better solution to the problems related to the expansion of the activities of business. Using the
technologies related to digitalisation assist the companies in reducing the costs related to
operation by utilising various tools and techniques and in turn also increases the overall
profitability( Evans, 2012). This assist the company in capturing a large share of market by
attracting customers towards the business activities of business. The current project report is
done on Henmans LLP which is small company that is operating in UK and provides legal
services in the London.
This project report will discuss about the aims and objectives in the use of digitalisation,
preparation of plan related to project management, stages that are involved in completing the
project, using the quantitative and qualitative methods in conducting the research. This report
also tells about the tools and techniques that are utilised in interpreting the data and providing
reasonable recommendation to solve the issues.

P1: Aim and objectives regarding application of digital technology
Henmans company is small scale company which is deals in providing services related
legal problems that are faced by companies and individuals in UK. Main purpose of company is
to find and appoint fresh talent for the company which provide further expansion operation in
UK( Cheung, Chan, and Kajewski, 2012). These professional services which are provided by the
company helps the companies and other individuals in solving the issues they face regarding
legal problems. In order to provide quality services and expansion of activities of business, the
internal management have formulated certain techniques and procedures for modifying the
current activities of business. In order to serve the purpose the managers have decided to choose
digitalisation of the operations of company. This implementation will help the company in
establishing different platforms that will help company in achieving expansion of operations.
The use of digitalisation can help the company in posting advertisements on the social media

websites regarding the services they provide which will assist in attracting more customers and
also the employees which have relevant skills and knowledge in the related sector so that
company can hire them and achieve more growth(Gustafson, 2012). This assist the companies in
saving time and cost. Many companies and individual in the modern world stay active on the
social media which assist the company in attracting more clients if the company maintains its
existence on the online platform.

activities of business. It impacts the company vastly in gaining a large share of market. Using

forces of market and competitors of firm. By this the company gets a chance to get a better
understanding regarding the demands which will arise in future in the markets and formulating
the plans to provide the services accordingly which will satisfy their demands. This also assist
the companies in identifying new ideas by which the companies can expand the operation of
business. This project report will discuss about the Henmans group, which has also adopted
digitalisation recently , which have assisted them in getting more customers in the corporate
sector, as they receive the legal issues face by them through an online portal which they have
designed particularly for this purpose. By this the company have attracted many customers as the
corporate companies only gives their legal cases who have online existence and to whom they
cam communicate online(Gustafson, 2012).

For effective and efficient implementation of digital technology in companies. Internal
managers are required to formulate plans regarding various aspects. These plans assists in
identifying cost, necessary time required for employing these plans, extent of use of advanced
technologies and problems and risks related to communication( Evans, 2012). All of such aspects
are required to be done for making a project successful and enhance the operations of company.
Henmans LLP provides legal services in UK and is a small company. The project management
plan if formulated by the internal managers of the company consists of the following significant
aspects which are discussed as under:
 Scope of project:: The project that is undertaken is based on digital technology , which
has a wide scope in the modern world because of so much involvement of the social
media and engagement of internet in daily life of people. Use of digitalisation includes
the utilisation of various tools and thus declines the operational cost and in turn increases
the profitability of company.
 Cost: In the implementation of digital technology in the company will incur a lot of cost
for the company initially and the company need to do large investment. The company
then have to modify their policies accordingly and create the website of the company
where the clients can visit and contact company. But this issues will be faced by company
in the initial period only, afterwards it will increase the profitability of company( Cheung,
Chan, and Kajewski, 2012).
 Communication: When the company uses a online platform it assists the firm in
communicating efficiently with its clients on the the website of the company. This helps
company in saving times which otherwise would be wasted in personally meeting the
clients. The firm can also communicate regarding its services in the market using social
platforms.
 Time: Implementing a new process in the business can be a time consuming process as
the training is needed to be provided to the employees of the company so that they can
efficiently use the technologies that is adopted by company. But this process will help the
company in increasing the profitability of business in long term and in maintaining

For conducting the research, researcher needs to take 30 respondents from total population for
asking the relevant questions regarding the impact of digitalisation on the overall success of the
business. The respondents that are selected by the researcher are chosen by random sampling
method, who have assisted in providing feedback regarding the online method regarding
selection of candidates.
