TITLE
“To examine various strategy and initiatives which are taken so as to understand
challenges faced by business in enforcing equality and diversity. A case study based on Hays
Plc.”
INTRODUCTION
A successful business is defined as adoption of continuous improvements through which
overall business processes can be improvised and collectively effective results can be drawn.
This shows that various changes are made by the business in order to adopt and implement those
changes in early manner so that growth and development opportunities can be easily approached.
This enlightens that these changes are fostering organisational services and making them
compatible to adopt those changes in prompt manner (Dan, Lior and Daphna, 2016). This is
essential that various growth opportunities are adopted by the business in order to maximise sales
and profit and retain them for longer duration as well. Similarly this is required that high
employee satisfaction is being enumerated as they are backbone for the company and provide
support to the business in greater extent by which chances to exhibit success increases so as to
attain distinct competitive edge within marketplace. In the current time business are investing in
their employee so as to take out maximum output and to attain business goals along with high
sustainability as well. Furthermore businesses are trying to implement diversity and
inclusiveness practices in the business in order to retain talented workforce within business and
to avoid practices of separating them on the basis of various constraints such as culture, gender,
religion etc. This report is based on challenges faced within implementing equality and diversity
within Hays Plc. Hays Plc is a recruitment service provider in UK and was established in 1867.
The company is operating their business in more than 30 countries and headquartered in London,
UK. This report includes project plan, small scale research and findings from the research and
its evaluation as well.
TASK 1
P1) Devise the aim and objectives
For analysing various strategies and initiations which are adopted by he business so as to
inherent diversified and inclusive workforce in order to improvise business standards and
provide business development as well (Young, 2016). Diversified culture is defined as including

various constraints in business such as cultural background, religion, gender, physical abilities
etc. As this is unlike that two personnels are matching with same characteristics and their
difference is called heterogeneous. Equality and diversity is the phase in which values of
employees are accepted according to their qualification and to provide them comfortable
working environment so that their retention can be made for longer duration. Thus this can be
said that high diversity leads to reducing employee turnover (Bell, Bryman and Harley, 2018).
Hays Plc is willing to expand their business so this is highly required that they provide required
culture to their employees so that targets can be achieved in appropriate manner.
Aim: To examine various strategies and initiatives in which diversity and inclusiveness is
associated within business of Hays Plc in order to provide diversity and inclusiveness in
workforce so by which overall capacity of the business can be improvised and appropriate
participation can be drawn thereon.
Objectives:
To examine presence of diversity in the business and to examine the level of equality
within organisation with the help of primary and secondary research.
To examine challenges which are faced by workforce of Hays Plc within context of
equality and diversity.
To exhibits some recommendations so as to eliminate those challenges which are faced
by the employees using primary and secondary research.
Research questions:
To examine the concept of diversity in employees within business organisation.
Examine significance of diversity and inclusiveness within working place (Patten, 2016)
(Silverman, 2016).
What are the impacts of diversity within working standard of business.
Collection of information regarding impact of diversity within employees.

P2) Produce a project management plan
The project management plan is a document which is hand written and associates with
required information related to the project and helpful in preparing related decisions and framing
judgements regarding assigned project (Heagney, 2016). This includes various aspects in order to
measure changes so as to earn appropriate profit by making efforts towards controlling task and
activities in proper manner.
Cost: This is the factor which is associated with overall expenditure which is needed in
order for task completion and these cost includes research tool, training and development
cost, travelling cost, cost for legal compliance and many more. This amount is provided
by Hays Plc to the researcher so that to bound them to complete research within specified
cost limit.
Time: This is defined as the period in which project is required to be completed by
researcher on overall manner. Within the current research the time taken by the
researcher is 3 weeks. By maintaining time limit work process redundancy can be
eliminated due to which proper results can be obtained along with high efficacy. Scope: This is defined as the possibilities which are gathered after performing research in
order to ensure that performed functions are accomplished within prescribed instances.
Along with this this ensures that effective utilisation is executed so as to attain valuable
results thereon. Quality: This is defined as the standard of resultant output which is derived from the
research in order to remove additional barriers within the project. This is helpful in

achieving desired output so that effective strategies can be formulated which could
promote diversity and inclusiveness within business. Quality is the factor through which
high efficacy during project work is achieved and this is turned to be the related with
diversity and inclusiveness within business. Communication: This is associated with acquiring and transmitting various information
in which interaction can be enumerated within employees by which appropriate data can
be collected thereon. This is utilised in order to understand the actual thoughts behind the
research and prepared questionnaire. This requires internet so that direct communication
can be established from respondents. Risk: This is defined as the occurrence of risk and uncertainty during research process.
This includes numerous stages in which project can be completed and these stages are
associated with various levels of risks. Within this aspect researcher is trying to eliminate
various barriers so that the research can be performed according to the prepared plan and
quality of output can be maintained as well.
Resources: This is associated with different sources by which required resources are
collected which are necessary for completion of the research. These resources include
physical assets, human resources, stationery etc. these are helping researcher to
encompass satisfactory outcomes so that efficacy can be exhibited.
P3) Produce a work breakdown structure and a Gantt chart
Gantt chart: This is a tool through which schedule of whole research is prepared by which
dependency on the task and activities are created. This includes the time taken by each activities
for finishing in order to recognise actual status of the completion and performance as well
(Sharon and Dori, 2017). This is termed as the tool of project management so that assistance can
be provided to researcher within performed activities. This tool is providing support to the
researcher so as to maintain clarity and diminish overall complexities which can be faced during
research tenure and to draw appropriate conclusion as well.
Work Breakdown structure: This is a system in which whole activities are divided into
smaller parts so as to manage overall output and to manage the same within appropriate
framework. This stricture draws outlines in which whole the task is divided so that chances of
unfed areas are lessened so that to reduce working barriers. This structure helps in preparing high
effective procedure to complete given tasks.
