INTRODUCTION
It can be said that the world is getting advanced day by day with the new technological
advancements that are happening in the environment. It is one of the main factor that is giving
opportunities to companies so as to grow and develop themselves in the market. It is very
effective in maximising and expanding the business operations as well. Therefore, it can be said
that digital technology is considered as a very important part of the business environment
because with the help of these, so many business activities can be conducted in an easy manner
(Ajmal, Helo and Kekäle, 2010). These technologies also take long time for development as it is
developed after doing proper research therefore it is considered as very effective. It can provide
help in storing large data files into the system in an easy manner. The organisation that is
referred here is Roamer which is a small scale watch manufacturing company in UK and they are
making digital and attractive watches for their customers. In this assignment several points will
be discussed like aims and objectives and after this a proper research will be conducted so as to
collect relevant information towards the project. After this, data analysis and interpretation will
be done of the data collected and then finally conclusion and recommendations will be provided.

P1 Aims and objectives of project for Roamer
In the current business environment, it has become very essential for the companies to
make use of advanced technologies while doing their business activities so that it can be
completed effectively. Digital technologies can be considered as a remarkable development that
has taken place in the environment as it has brought several changes in the businesses and has
opened several doors for new opportunities for the people. Its impact can be in both positive as
well as negative manner but it is very important to implement it in the companies so that its
functioning can be dine in an effective manner (Anderson and Anderson, 2010). Digital
technology is considered as effective in every type of companies and its size and structure
doesn't matter. These technological advancements will have an effect on the culture, efficiency
and relationship of business as well. Through this , the organisations can also secure their
confidential informations and take trade advantages as well. Also, since it is very much essential
for every company to have a good relationship with their customers an it is possible only with
the use of digital technologies. So, this is very necessary for all the companies to make use of

these techniques so that they can be in regular touch with their customers. So, it can be said that
digitalisation is providing several benefits to the businesses in making their services and
operations more effective and efficient and in taking decisions in a quick manner as well (Den
Hertog and et. al., 2010). Finally, it can be assumed that it is having a positive impact on the
business and companies should make it is a part of them so as to bring growth and development.

BACKGROUND OF PROJECT: The main aim behind conducting thus project is for
creating a positive impact on the work operations of the companies and also changing the
development models of the companies as well. With the help of digital technologies, the
companies are able to look for more opportunities in the market and bringing effective
development in itself as well. In the current era, there are so many small sized companies that are
being opened in the business environment as they are seeing so many opportunities for them in
future. For these small businesses, digital technologies are like a boon as with the use of this,
they can bring steady growth in themselves. With the help of this, their research capacity gets
enhanced and they are able to find new opportunities for them in the future as internet allows
them to travel into a whole new market free of cost.
It has also been studied that around 89% of small sized companies are having a website
of their own which is helping them to reach each and every consumer also making a perfect
place in the market (Jeston and Nelis, 2014). As Roamer is also a small sized organisation which
is making watches, so if they want to develop in the market then they will have to make use of
digital technologies in their work operations as it will make it simple and flexible only. By doing
this, they will also be able to know the needs and demands of the customers so that they can
product the goods accordingly.

A project is a temporary activity that is carried out with a particular aim. A project
management plan is a document that contain all the activities of a particular project that how it is
executed and monitored. It is said that a project management plan is required to be prepared by
each and every company so as to conduct all their activities in an adequate manner (Jonas, 2010).
It is basically prepared by the project managers who is having the responsibility to handle all the
operations of the project. This will help the managers to make this project successful and also
ensures that it will g n for long term. The plan which is made is related to cost, quality, risk,
quality and scope. So, the project managers of Roamer company will have to make a plan
considering all these activities at one place. All these points are explained as under: -
 Scope of the project – It is required that the scope of the project should be high in nature
since there are so many opportunities present in the market which can be considered by
company only when they are having high scope. This will also help them in supporting
their operations and increasing their profitability as well. So, it is considered that by
implementing such a factor, Roamer can increase their business at a huge level and also
spread it across the world. For doing this they do not limit to the off line sector only as
they can take help of online sector as well.
 Risk management – Since Roamer is a small scale company who has just started doing
its operations will have to take high risk so as to develop themselves in the market. So, it
is considered that here the risk level will be high as the company is not much established
in the market (Kerzner, 2013). But every company takes risks so as earn more amount of
profits. This is a very crucial decision that is taken by the companies so as to gather
maximum benefits from it and expand its operations.

 Quality control – This is one of the most important factor that is required to be
considered by the companies who wants to grow their customer base. So, if Roamer
wants to increase their no. of customers then they will have to make their watches of
better quality and design so that the customers gets attracted to it and buy more of their
watches again and again (Larson and Gray, 2013). This will also help them inn
competing with their competitors who are present in the market. This will create a good
relationship with the customers as well so that they get stick with the company for a long
term.
 Cost – It is that element that is present in the company all the time and with its help only
all the operations are being conducted in a long time. In case of Roamer, their cost will be
high as they will be increasing their operations so they will resource as well which will
include cost. Since its a small company so they might have to arrange these funds so as to
conduct this project.
 Time – The project managers is required to allot time for completing all of their
activities. This is required to be done by the managers on priority bases as then only they
will be able to complete all their activities on time and make the project successful. So, in
case of Roamer, their project managers will include this factor necessarily so as to make
an efficient project management plan.
 Communication – It is also a relevant factor that is required to be present in a project
management plan because even if the plan that is prepared is efficient but if it is not
communicated to the people associated with the project in an appropriate manner then it
will be considered as waste (Leach, 2014).
So, by following all these factors, the project managers can implement the project in a
successful manner. So, Roamer will have a positive impact if all these elements will be used by
them in an appropriate manner and thus bringing growth and development the business
operations. Therefore, it is very necessary for the managers to make a perfect project
management plan so as to make their plan effective and efficient.
