project. It can be seen as a systematic way in which structure is added to the process. It is done
by assigning an order to all the important and essential parts included in the plan. The basic
elements the plan are mentioned:
Cost: Cost is one of the basic and fundamental research element. In this the enumerator
has to plan the budget so that the project gets completed as per the available resources or costs.
Each task is allotted specifically in which entire research has to be completed systematically
(Brewster, Chung and Sparrow, 2016). The amount required by present research is £32,000.
Communication: Communication is another essential part in project management plan.
It is the researchers' responsibility to communicate everything to the people which are involved
directly or indirectly in the research. In order to overcome this communication gap. Important e-
mails, circulars, messengers are used to convey all the important informations to their team
members.

the research. From the end to the starting conclusion, it is essential that scholar ensures the
standard needs where the quality of research is maintained. The key performance indicator is
observed as one of the best ways to maintain the quality of the research.
Time: One of the core essential factor of project management plan. It is important for the
researcher to plan the activities as per the time because the delay in the research often impacts
the quality of the study (Hilbert, 2016). The present study is completed in 40 days.

Document Page
Research Type
The type of research is one of the most essential qualities of the research. It allows the
researcher to evaluate what kind of research is going to be held. The Quantitative and Qualitative
are the techniques of research in which the research study is based upon. Techniques on which
the data is analysed, collected and interpreted from the usage of statical and numeric data is
known as qualitative research. On the contrary, when data is analysed, collected and interpreted
from the usage of techniques that are non-numeric and appropriate observation is known as
Quantitative data. The present research is based on technique which is qualitative. The scholar
in the research has collected data from survey which are based on feelings or emotions and are
non-numeric.
Research Approach
In research onion, the approaches of the research are on the number two. It is because of
the reason which is based on the selection types and methods. In this, the researchers which are
involved in the research have to start with evaluation of a variety of research approaches so that
the questions of research are addressed effectively. The process and planning which is consisted
of the steps in which wide assumptions of deep understanding of data gathers, that is where
proper analysis and data takes place (Bingham and Druker, 2016). Deductive and Inductive are
two core fundamental classifications of research approaches. An approach which begins with the
data collection on the topic, and when the scholar have look on the data. The working on
developing a theory is generally explained in those patterns. On the contrary, the researcher tests
and aims and the research. In the present study, the researcher has made use of inductive
approach which has been seen as one of the most suitable approach in the field of quantitative
research. From the application of inductive approach or the same techniques the researcher is
going to investigate the human resource efficiency of the Tesco.
Research Philosophy
Research philosophy is known to be a study that deals with strong knowledge and broad
perspective of one's views. Interpretivism and Positivism are two basic research philosophies
applied in the research below research. The collected data in positivism application philosophy is
structured highly and large data and sample analysis is used in the research. In the application of
interpretivism philosophy the information collected is very simple and in depth as well. The
investigation is set to be based on the qualitative and quantitative methods. In the present study,
Document Page
the researcher has made use of interpretivism philosophy because the required outcomes are
reliable and very authentic (Samantara and Sharma, 2015). Also, it is because this is mainly used
in qualitative studies. The application of Interpretivism philosophies along with the techniques
are investigated to find the change in Human Resource activities and in what manner the Human
Resource is fulfilling the organisational goals.
Sampling
Sampling plays an essential role in terms of research. It refers to the group of people,
objects or items that has been taken from a larger population. Along with it, it is important to
select the appropriate type and size of the sample before data collection. The reason in order to
selecting the sample is that, it is difficult for the scholar collect the required information from
large set of population because of not having required time and resources as well. The Non-
Probabilistic and probabilistic sampling are two major sampling classifications (Mayo, 2016).
The enumerator in the research has made use of the sampling which is probabilistic. In this set,
the representatives are having equal chances to select the sample. 20 Human resource officials of
Tesco are selected in order to answer the research questions.
Data Collection
When the sampling selection is done, the researcher starts data collection with the help of
representatives. It is the process or a technique which is used to gather the required information
from all the sources which are relevant. The Secondary and Primary are two major techniques
that are used to collect the data in the research. The information is collected from the sources
which are primary makes use of interview, observation, and survey. On the contrary, when
scholar collects the data from journals, articles, books etc. is the information collected from
secondary sources (Rahman, 2018). In the research, the enumerators has done the collection of
data from primary sources from the help of questionnaire. From the application of primary
techniques, the researcher has evaluated the efficiency of the organisation's human resource
department.
Data Analysis
After the gathering of the data, data Analysis is done. It is the process which is used to
mould, clean and transfer the information that is raw into systematic and meaningful way.
Collected information by the researcher cannot be used without the proper analysis. The
Quantitative and Qualitative are two major methods used in the analysis of data. The data

analysis used in the present study is in form of qualitative methods (Banana and Shaik, 2017). In

graph, charts and tables.

knowledge of the Human Resource and its practices. I learned about the important strategies
used by the organisations across the world to ensure better human resource practices and train
and develop their employees. The report provided me a brief understanding about the working of
Human Resource department and its functioning. I also learned about important development
prospects which can take an organisation further and can help it in achieve new growth and build
its reputation in the international market. I also learned about the working of the retail industry
and how Tesco operates (Krypa, 2017). In its initial stages, the research was difficult for me but
as soon as I started being more involved into it, I enjoyed it and learned a variety of things along.
