INTRODUCTION
In business, there are wide range of sectors of different categories of both
small, medium and large. The hospitality business sector is wider and
approach which comprises of different products and services such as
lodging, room booking, food and drink or beverages etc. Main aim of this
report is to understand the importance of hospitality functions and
operations. Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts, an international and luxury
hotel headquartered in Ontario, Canada. It has many competitors such as
The Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts etc.
This report comprises of scale and size of accommodation services,
different forms of ownership, role of grading, classification system, front
office functions, key roles within front office department, roles within
housekeeping department,

The accommodation sector contributes to the industry as a whole
The accommodation sector contribute so hotel industry as a whole because sector
of a community consist of different types of players such as hotels, motels,
restaurants and many more. The tourism industry is widely comprises of
accommodation service providers who are responsible for providing wide
number of profits and sales revenue to the business.
The hotel sector also do the investment in a competition sector as because
travellers and tourist whenever visits new place to stay and then accomodation
providers play important role.

Scale and size of accommodation services found within
hospitality industry
Accommodation service defined as charging fees for accommodation
service such as equipped rooms, Wi-FI, Foods and beverages etc. The
hospitality sector has been growing and developing at rapid scale. Size as
well as scale of hospitality industry is growing as this sector is being
considered as 4th largest contributors within economy. Four Season Hotel
and Resorts is located at global scale and delivery luxury services to
guests and tourists. With changing behaviour & attitude of guests as well
as tourists globally, way of providing accommodation services is also
changing. At both national and international global economy,
accommodation and hotel sector is contributing at larger scale.

Provide job opportunities- It is major reason for importance of
accommodation service as it provide ample number of job opportunities to
people. In relevance of Four Season Hotel and Resorts, they have skilled
employees & expertise within their management.
Fulfill needs and demands of guests/ tourist- The accommodation
services within hospitality industry have been also ahead in fulfilling needs
and demands of guests. Moreover, guests and tourist standard living
increases at higher scale when these demands are fulfilled.
More than 1,50,000 jobs are being generated every year within hospitality
sector, more than 1,30,000 d generated in restaurants & cafes,
approximately 25000 jobs are generated within accommodation services.

Different forms of ownership available to accommodation
services
In accommodation services, it is critically important to be well aware of
ownership so that it is easy for hotel industry to carry out their functions
and operations in proper manner. In hospitality sector, there are various
type of ownership which are discussed as follows-
 Partnership-
It refers to ownership in which there are various types of individual two
or more than two who execute business activities with mutual
consideration in order to achieve common desired goals.
 Leasing-
It is another type of ownership in which one party agrees to pay rent to
property which is owned by another party. In this, it includes grantees the
lessor and lessee. In accommodation service, it is most common form of
providing services to guests or tourists.

In this type of ownership, franchisor, the owner grants permission to
individual, the franchisee in order to distribute or use assets and charges
amount of fees. In reference of selected hotel, they do not use this
ownership as they are being considered as elite group of hotels.
 Contract
It is form of ownership in which parties or individual comes into
agreement with common agreed objectives. In relation of chosen hotel,
they uses contracts form of ownership for example- The hotel has acquired
management agreements in South America of Park Hyatt Buenos Aires,
Madison Resort, Golf & Spa.

In market, there are various types of accommodation providers which are
given as follows-
Commercial accommodation
 Hotels- These are those type of commercial accommodation in which
they deals in business area, community etc.
Non-commercial accommodation
 Privately owned- These are those providers who rent their own assets
or property to other individuals.

 Luxury services- In accommodation services, these are those type of
services which are being provided to celebrities, influences, or rich

affordable prices. For example- the chosen hotel provide mid range
services such room availability at different prices, food and beverages
etc.
 Budget services- They are other type of service in which price cut
and budget services are delivered to customers relying on their budget
level.

potential guests look for and book accommodation
Hotel classification system is defined as ranking of hotels into different
form of nomenclature such as stars, etc. In hospitality sector, it is essential
to be well aware of grading and classification system so that best options
are selected by guests as well as tourists when looking of accommodation.

which are focused by chosen hotel and is further explained below-

In hospitality industry, hotels classify as well as grade their
services by using these systems as it help them to make decisions

manages higher responsibilities as they are first one who encounters
customers on daily basis & are responsible for managing every activity of

Motel- Motels are those in which they have a two storey buildings with basic
rooms with one or two beds. In comparison with front office department of
hotel, motels do not have uniformed staff.
Resort- Resorts are one that look goo and feel like a hotel a room . Resorts can be
both exclusive and non exclusive on the basis of rooms are presented. In
comparison with hotel front office department, resorts department have a few
staff members with less responsibilities.
Hostel- It is type of accommodation in which it is mostly preferred by youth or
adults. In this, front office department have either one or two member who
manages all the roles.

After a brief analysis of above matter, it has been examined that it
managing accommodation service is important as it help in providing of
better services and fulfill the needs of every individual. Further, hospitality
industry is changing and it is crucial for enterprises to use amenities &
identify the appropriate segment of market in order to achieve goals as
well as objectives. The presentation includes contribution of
