Leadership and management in the workplace are considered as one of the essential aspect as it
helps to manage the entire culture of the company. By considering the overall activities of the
company it can be stated that effective leadership in the organization should be there as it offer
guidance to the employees to consider the right action which is beneficial for the company.
Therefore, this paper will discuss about the overall leadership and management of Samsung
Company. The purpose of paper is to emphasize on the overall concept of leadership and
management in relation to power and politics in the workplace.

Introduction
Samsung is one of the biggest South Korean multinational companies. Headquarter of the
company is in Samsung Town, Seoul. It has been noted that Samsung was established by Lee
Byung Chul in 1938 as one of the trading company. The subsidiaries of the company are
Samsung electronics and Samsung C&T Corporation. The revenue earned by the company IN
2016 was more than 17,400 Cr USD (Samsung, 2018).
Leadership and management
Leadership style considered by the leaders in the workplace plays an important role as it
manages the entire activities of the employees. It has been evaluated that Mr. Yong II Choi is a
senior manager in the research department. He is working from 15 years and also they emphasize
on training the employee about the safety. He always wants to improve his knowledge in
professional field. It has been observed that he follows participative leadership style which can
also be stated as the democratic leadership style. This style emphasizes on the method which
involves all the members of the team and it helps them to focus on the essential goals which are
important for the company to be attained. He focuses on the maintaining good relation of the
employees in the workplace as it can help in achieving goals and it motivate them to give their
best towards the activities of the company. He stated that “I always want to keep good relations
with the workers” (Samsung, 2018).
By considering the leadership style, the leader focuses on offering support and encouragement
to the employees when they need. It also helps the employees to be involved in the overall
process of decision making and also respect to the employees is maintained by the leaders. He
focuses on managing the entire task structure in the workplace by performing the task in a
creative manner and the emphasis is on research and development with the clear goal. It can be
stated that for them the entire procedure is unclear and also well-structured which help the
employees to give their best towards the goals of the company. The management style
considered by the leader is democratic as in this it has been observed that employees take active
participation in the overall decision process of the employees. The overall activities are managed
with the discussion and also the decisions are considered by taking the view point of the
employees in the workplace (Business world, 2018).
