INTRODUCTION
Information system is defined as a set of components for storing, collecting & processing
data as well as information. Organizations depend mainly on information system in order to
carry out and managing operations in a proper manner. In addition to this, Information system
help companies to interact with their suppliers and customers, and to compete within the
marketplace. Information system is adopted in order to run inter organizational supply chains as

management information system, decision support system, enterprise resource planning (ERP)

management of processes which is mediated by technology and software. This software involves

is headquarter in United Kingdom. The company offers high quality grocery and home essentials
within the market. It has around 7,000 stores worldwide which is effectively operated by more
than 4 lakh employees. The company uses ERP system so that they can manage day to day
activities in a proper manner. The main objective of the essay is to gain an understanding
regarding enterprise resource planning system that is used by companies for managing activities.
