MANAGING INFORMATION SYSTEMS1 Question: What do you think is the single greatest physical threat to information systems? According to my opinion terrorism is one of the greatest physical threats to information system because it impacts on the personal data or information of consumers. Moreover, terrorism also increases the problem of sabotage in the field of information system. A recent study identified that terrorism is one of the common problems occur in the information system and hackers attack the computer devices and networks for obtaining their private details (Kenney, 2015).Malware and cyber-crimes both these are involved in the terrorism and hackers use malware tools for damaging their computer networks. in this modern era, consumers use internet connectivity while accessing information system and technologies which is also associated with the cyber- crimes and terrorism because hackers use the internet as a platform for hacking private databases of consumers. Facebook Cambridge analytica, git-hub, uber data breach, yahoo cyber-attack all these are real examples of terrorism where hackers attack the information systems and computers. In which Facebook Cambridge analytica is one of the largest data breach attacks in the history of terrorism and numbers of users were suffered from the sabotage and cyber-crimes (Little Field, 2017). Therefore, all these evidence show that terrorism is one of the largest physical threats in the information system which also increases the rate of cyber-crimes and sabotage. In this modern era, the use of information technology is growing rapidly which also increase the problem of hacking and terrorism because hackers attack the physical devices for encrypting user’s data files.
