INTRODUCTION
The need of quality in care environment is must for the purpose of providing effective health
care services within the society. It is the duty upon management is to improve the quality of their
services within the care settings through implementation of the different measures like
technological upgradation, training of staff and building of proper standards. There is huge
importance of this aspect is the today’s environment where large number of diseases exist and
impacts the health of people adversely. In this situation, quality and percent centred case is the
only approach that help in early recovery of patient. The role of government in building same is
also very strengthened where policies and regulations govern the activities of professionals along
with care settings (Calero, Gomila and Fullana, 2019). The main aim of this report is also to
ascertain information about the measures that will help in maintenance of quality care
environment within a care setting. The care home selected for carrying analysis in this regard is
Akari Care Ltd.
The aspects which are covering in report includes comparison between different legislative
and statutory requirements are taken into account in measuring and monitoring quality in health
and social care with the aid of theories, discussing the importance of promoting diversity,
difference and inclusive practices in a care setting, discussing the importance of protecting
different services users towards improving quality in a care setting regulations and policies in a
health and care setting, carrying a review of one aspect of working practices in own setting to
accurately identify improvements that can be made to the current level of quality, discussing that
why the aspect selected requires improvement using a range of different sources of information,
producing a detailed plan for a relevant quality improvement initiative in own work setting and
discussion of the potential or actual barriers to completing the quality improvement initiative.

TASK 1
P1 Comparison between different legislative and statutory requirements are taken into account in
measuring and monitoring quality in health and social care with the aid of theories
There is huge need for the use of legislative and statutory requirements with the care setting
for the purpose of measuring and monitoring quality. These works as the base in the setting that
provides the opportunity to management that check the performance of professionals, staff and
an overall organisation. This has importance in effective determination of the deviations among
the performances from the standards so these will be improved in future by working over the
same aspects. This simultaneously provides the opportunity to the management is to build
effective mitigating measures along with future strategies that work in the direction of improve
quality of service and working atmosphere of case setting (Chapman and Montagu, 2016). The
comparison between the both is provided below regarding their contribution in exercise of
measuring and monitoring;
Legislative requirements: These are the requirements build by government for the purpose
of providing effective services along with creating the culture of dispersing equivalent care
services to all different individuals of society. The determinants which are covered under this
along with their role in measuring and monitoring of quality in health and social is presented
below:
Data protection: This is about the protection of all private information of the patients and
staff linked with the care setting regarding any further use and dissemination to third party
without their consent. This brings an obligation upon the management of care setting like Akira
Care Ltd. that never use the personal data of anybody and maintain the proper record from where
they will not be leaked.
Safeguarding and Equality: This about the creating atmosphere which is safe for everyone
either patient or staff members. Also, they have to treat each and every one equally who have
any kind of interest in the care setting. This governs the activities of management that they do
not perform discriminative activities which will be harmful for someone in future and promote
the inequality in atmosphere (Deringer, 2019).

Statutory requirement: This includes the requirements which are necessary to maintain for
the purpose of carrying care setting activities. These are important to adhere in the direction of
attaining sustainability. Those who provided these are defined below:
Care quality commission: They provide the rules and regulations regarding operation of
functionalities and maintenance of safety within care home. They have major focus over the
improvement of services along with working environment.
Health and safety commission: They have the main work related to ensuring safety of all
who have interest in operations like staff members, professionals and patients. They have the
main aim that nothing will present at workplace which will be harmful for anybody’s health.
There are many theories and approaches that will help in understanding the aspect that how
well the legislative and statuary requirements in effective measuring and monitoring of quality in
health and social care. These are defined below:
Total quality management: This is the aspect about management of overall quality. This
clearly depicts that the role of legislation and statuary determinants has equal contribution in the
development of overall care setting like Akari Care Ltd.
Functional quality: In the development of functional quality within care setting, role of
statuary determinants was important as they help in building core structure. Legislations also
have the role related to governing staff actions but the main strengthened role was played by
statutory determinants that help in bringing of stability in operations (Garcia and et. al., 2018).

P2 Discussing the importance of promoting diversity, difference and inclusive practices in a care
setting
There is huge importance of promoting diversity, difference and inclusive practices in a
care setting. This will not only help in delivering effective care but aid in overall improvement of
all quality services. This is the concept that includes providence of care to someone on the basis
of identified issue and the behind cause so able to provide optimum care in accordance to the
heath and body needs. There are many aspects that will help the management of care setting like
Akari Care Ltd. to promote the diversity, difference and inclusive practices along with
ascertaining positive impact over their care services and final outcomes. All these are defined
below in detailed form;

Use of holistic approach: This is the approach that includes consideration of everything
before providing medication to the patient. The determinants which are focusing under this
includes physical, mental, social, emotional and cognitive health of a patient along with building
of effective communication. The importance of this approach that help in determination of the
actual cause behind the issue so able to provide perfect treatment in accordance to body
requirement. Finally, this improves the quality of care from where always able to get the positive
results (Gilyard, 2018).
Arrangement of tools for self-determination: The tools of self-determination is
important for the patients in respect to gather information about their own health and other
related aspects. This brings transparency where trust creates between the professional and patient
regarding quality of care. This exercise develops the belief among patients that they will recover
soon.
Providing ownership of their own care journey: This is the important aspect that help in
developing confidence among the patients that they will recover soon. Also, this will improve
their patience because they have the knowledge regarding the issue and the further time period
requires in medication. It creates effective relation between the service user and care setting
where having the belief that nothing bad will happen with their health (Gizaw, 2018).
Integration of service user feedback into quality improvement measure: The
continuous improvement in services is important according to the changes occur in environment
along with increasing number of issues. In this regard, better for a care setting to consider the
views and feedbacks of their patients. This provides an opportunity to work on ground level and
building of the strategies that help to remove core issues. This will have importance in future for
the care setting that creates the effective bond with the society where individuals have belief that
the care setting is listening to their aspects and performs the work of development which will
beneficial for their health.
Keeping the service user above of any quality improvement initiatives: The activities
of improvement in care setting are continuing all the time period because of the nature of
profession. The improvement is much important because this is associated with deliverance of
quality for a health safety of patient. So, whenever the improvement activities happen or
continue in the setting then always first consider about the requirements of service user as these
are the one who gets the final outcome from the performance of functions (Gonzales, 2020).

There is huge need regarding the improvement of quality in a care regulations and policies
as these are the main that govern the activities of the professional and staff. These brings an
obligation over the staff and professional that always focus over the adoption of approach which
is correct in nature otherwise they have to face the negative consequence in form fine, removal
from job and cancellation of medical certificate. The regulations and policies are also work as the
guiding factor that help in regular performance of work with improved quality. These brings
professionalism within the setting along work as standards to judge the working of others.
Through these a setting can easily identify the deviations and improve the current level of
services. The direct impact of these has upon service users. If these are effectively adhered, then
a setting is able to provide effective protection to user from every kind of issue and if not then
the whole case will be different where users feel unprotected and wants to leave the service as
soon as possible (Goodrow, 2017). The importance’s which are associated with providence of
effective protection to the different users are many. All these are defined below in detailed
manner:
Enhanced self-esteem: Proper protection to patients improves the self-esteem that
whenever in the future if they got ill then this care setting has effective level of service and
ability to recover from the issue as soon as possible. This is building among the persons through
the lever of services exist in the care home and the policies they adhered. This ensure them in
overall nature that whatever the situation they always get the better treatment irrespective to any
kind of partiality and biasness.
Enhanced customer satisfaction and trust level: Adherence of all rules and regulations
along with providence of effective protection to all different number of patients help in
ascertaining the high level of satisfaction from their side where they always feel satisfied from
the current level of services. This further have importance in the exercise of trust development
where people have the belief over the services that never irrelevant happen with then that
negatively impacts their health or their level of trust (Islam, 2017).

Improved and high quality care: Adherence of regulations and policies provides the
opportunity to all care settings including Akari Care Ltd. that strengthened their core structure
from where they able to perform every kind of activity. The higher level of protection to patients
is also possible from this kind of operations. This creates the belief among both i.e. professionals
and patients that they always get the quality care because they working with very strong level of
base. Here, professional always get the support from regulations and policies regarding selection
of the right path or direction.

P4 Carrying a review of one aspect of working practices in own setting to accurately identify
improvements that can be made to the current level of quality
Akari Care Ltd. is the care home that provides the services in UK. This organisation
having the aim that provide the best care to their patients so they can recover as early as possible
from any kind of issue. In this regard, the aspect performs important role is continuous
improvement of service level according to the nature of development and rise in number of
problems. This will provide an opportunity to care setting that always be ready in advance from
where they can provide service to anyone who is in need. There are number of operations and
functions are performing in the care setting on the continuous basis and all have the equivalent
role in in the deliverance of quality care (Känsäkoski and Huotari, 2016). This provides that
there is need to focus over all practices of care setting so on the overall level able to attain
growth and development. The large number of benefits are associated with this aspect such as
building good image, ascertaining the level of trust of different parties, providing the opportunity
to staff and professional regarding improvement of their learning etc. From the all large number
of practices, the one which will be reviewed is availability of number of health tests and the time
period it tales in total to deliver effective service.
Currently, Akari Care Ltd. has all effective level of services through which they able to
provide quality services to their patient. But in accordance to the nature and increment in the
number of issues within environment like Covid-19, there is need for continuous improvement.
In the process of reviewing testing ability of a care setting identified that all the different number
of equipment’s are present but in limited quantity. In accordance to the ratio of patients that
increase rapidly in current period of time these will be not effective in nature. Also, the other

aspect that needed to consider and improve is the time period in completion of such services due
to the shortage of equipment’s. There is huge role of time period in deliverance of effective care
to the patients along with safeguarding their health in optimum manner. This will be done in the
one scenario when care home is able to diagnose the issues within effective period of time. The
shortage of equipment’s creates the large number of problems in front of the patient where they
have to wait long for their chance and also have to bear the pain of disease. Sometime,
unavailability of treatment on time turns the whole situation and a simple case become serious
one where difficult to save the life of a person (Kim, 2019). So, it is clear from the point that
there is huge need that management of Akari Care Ltd. focus over the improvement of testing
equipment’s and also provide the training their staff members for their usage so they able to
perform the work on time without any issues. The effective implementation of this aspect has
huge contribution in the improvement of quality of health service and safeguarding the life of
patients optimally. Also, it is advised to the management that focus over continues improvement
as this not burdens upon care home in the form of higher cost of expenditure and also provide the
opportunity to continually run the operations without any health service issue.
On general basis, the aspects which are needed to review by care home on continuous basis
includes resources, personnel, care environment, records of experience of service and processes.
In all the internal aspects upon which needed to provide special focus includes finance, budget,
equipment, accommodation, capacity, effectiveness, qualification and training, hygiene,
cleanliness, appropriateness, safety, recruitment and training and safeguarding disposal of
resources (Mahmud, 2020).
P5 Discussing that why the aspect selected requires improvement using a range of different
sources of information
The aspect selected above for the improvement is about the increment in number of testing
equipment’s for speeding up the process of diagnosis. This is one of the effective determinant for
the purpose of delivering effective care services. This is so because without determining actual
cause not possible for the professional to provide effective treatment. The need of improvement
regarding this practice was identified from the various sources like professional inability,
patient’s feedback and market image (Meutia and Ismail, 2017). In this regard, information was
gathered from all through the use of different resources during the process of reviewing. The
method and the detailed information is presented below:

Patients complaints: At the time of survey identified that there were many issues faced by
the patients related to diagnosis of their cause. It was mentioned by them that they have to wait
for very long and the person who was in charge is very slow and takes too much time in
completion of requirements. The same kind of problem was faced by the many patients and all
had same experience. This clearly depicts that there is huge need regarding improvement of this
service of care home as this will not only affects equality care service but diminished their image
too (Negm, 2016).
Questionnaire from staff members: Management provided the questionnaire to staff for
ascertaining their views. The aspect they said that the delay in treatment was happened due to the
issue of late diagnosis. They mentioned that there is need for the implementation of new
equipment’s. This also clearly depicts that need for new diagnosis equipment’s as both patients
and professionals are facing the problem (Sibonde, 2019).
TASK 4
P6 Producing a detailed plan for a relevant quality improvement initiative in own work setting
In the process of improvement initiative, aspect of planning is much needed for
ascertaining desired targets. In this regard, detailed plan for Akari Care Ltd. is provided below:
Identification of aspect to improve: The aspect which is needed to improve is diagnosis
equipment’s.
Gaining evidence for change: The main reason for their improvement is that they were in
limited quantity and slower down the process of treatment.
Measuring current standard of quality: Currently having the testing ability regarding all
issues but in the limited form where patients have to wait for effective diagnosis of their cause
before treatment (Steiner and et. al., 2017).
Creating a plan: There is needed to double the number of equipment’s along with
arrangement of training for staff. This help in effective usage without any wastage of time.
Equipment’s will be purchased from authorised organisation and for training arrangement will be
done regarding on the training programmes.
SMART targets: To double the number of testing equipment’s within 2 months of time
period.

Identification of processes, people and places: The process of direct purchasing will be
adopted. Training will be provided by professionals and the place will be work premise of care
home (Theobald, McFadden and Whiteford, 2018).
Identifying intended outcomes: The intended must have positive where able to diagnose
the cause in significant period of time and simultaneously provide effective quality treatment.
P7 Discussion of the potential or actual barriers to completing the quality improvement initiative
There are some potential or actual barriers for Akari Care Ltd in completing of quality
improvement initiatives. Some berries are explained as below:
Time available: From the time when service providers are not cited as an essential barrier
to delivering quality, it is role and duty to suppose that the time restraint impacts a few
influential service providers or staff members rather than whole enterprise. These people require
be identifying, training and helping to give leadership and commitment. Along with this,
inaccurate time provided by organisation is a main barrier in completing the quality
improvement that has negative effects on overall performance and growth of Akari Care Ltd in
its care setting (TIPU, 2017).
Leadership: This is another barrier faced by Akari Care Ltd while completing the quality
improvement or enhancement initiatives. Lack of leadership within delivering quality was
recognized as the main barrier. The Quality, Productivity, Prevention and Innovation initiative
objectives to enhance the quality of care. In order to get leadership for quality development,
business right requires a subtle combination of setting out a goal and compassion to the opinions
of others.
Lack of staff engagement: This is another main issue or barrier in completing the quality
improvement initiative. In this some staff members not support an organisation in delivering of
better quality that result in poor performance and productivity of Akari Care Ltd.
Therefore, all these are main barriers that have impact on Akari Care Ltd while completing
quality improvement initiatives (Williams, 2018).
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the above report that there is huge need for the improvement of
quality in care homes on continuous basis for the providence of optimum care to the individuals
of society. This has large number of importance this not only improves the image of care home

but creates the level of trust among service users that safety of their health is in right hands from
where they can recover as early as possible.
