Introduction
Motivation is defined as the most important factor in encouraging employees to work
effectively for managing the business activities properly. There are various companies that face
issue of motivation within workplace and it creates problem in success of company. It is very
essential for organizations to provide motivation to employee as it helps them to build their
capabilities in managing the business activities. The following report includes discussion about
motivational ways that can be used by Tesco for improving employee performance. There is
need to motivate employees as it helps in achieving success and improving overall success of
organization. This report will explain different elements and factors required for motivating and
encouraging employees of company. There is need of providing motivation to subordinates as it
will help in developing and managing the work in effective manner (Gerhart, and Fang, 2015)
(Gardner, Wright, and Moynihan, 2011). Employee motivation is known as level of
commitment and energy which is provided to workers of an organization for managing business
operations. It is very essential for employees and subordinates to motivate the subordinates and
workers in proper manner by maintaining their needs and requirements. There is need to manage
the working of employees by managing the working conditions provided to employees. If they
are satisfied by the working conditions then they will feel more engaged towards company.

How objectives will be achieved
Main reason for completing this research is to enhance knowledge about need of motivation
and encouragement in order to enhance growth of company (Naharuddin and Sadegi, 2013). This
research's approaches can be achieved by maintaining a proper budget in which all research
activities will be accomplished.

Need of motivating employees at workplace.
From the views of (William. A, 2020) Employee motivation is associated with the inspiring,
stimulating and inducing employees for performing the organisational activities. This is
important for companies to motivate the workers in order to manage the functioning of company
process in effective manner. It has been analysed that motivation is a psychological factor that is
linked to the way in which an individual functions. There is necessity for the managers to
manage motivation among employees so that the tasks and business activities are completed
within time. When employees working within Tesco have a motive to work and they desire for
behaving in proper manner to attain organisational goals then fulfilment of objectives can be
achieved. Encouragement and motivation induces individual workers in an effective manner.
There are various type of motivators used within companies for overall success of the company.
Some of the positive motivators of managers are increment, motivators, respect, bonus,
recognition, etc (Naharuddin, and Sadegi, 2013). This is a complex task and there is need to
develop effective strategies for motivating employees. It can be done by providing Monetary
benefits, incentives, non financial benefits, etc. There are different benefits that employers gain
by motivating employees and managing the business activities. Motivation helps in improving
efficiency of employees and managing to start the job role properly. It is helpful for companies
to attain organisational goals and contribute efforts for realising the achievement of goals
properly. There is maintenance of positive relation among workers and employers if they are
motivated effectively. There is requirement of coordination and cooperation of the organisation
and employees who have to work with team spirit.
Impact of motivational tools over the performance of employees
From the viewpoint of (John M, 2018), Motivation is defined as the inner urge that keeps an
employee to work within the company and attain organisational goals. There are different
motivational tools required by organisations to encourage individuals of organisation. An

feedback, improvement, etc. There are different projects on which managers have to focus upon.
One of the factor on which employers focus upon is learning incentive. Employees and workers
are provided free educational courses. This helps in building the education of an individual over
time and providing opportunities to employees in growing their career. The concept of learning
incentive consists of different packages including student loan, budgets for conferences, online
courses for flexible pursuing classwork, etc (Legner, and et. al., 2017). There is need for
employees to manage the planning and strategies which will help in providing benefits to the
employees. Perks and benefits are involved within compensation and this is important for Tesco
managers to focus upon developing compensation packages. There is a standard developed for
companies in which they can offer various benefits including paid time off, flexibility, health
insurance, etc. There are some companeis which provide entertainment facilities like free
Netflix subscription that increases appreciation of employers.
Measures of motivation are implemented by Tesco to promote employee’s performance.

motivation is the most essential factor on which the company is working. It is necessary for
Tesco to manage the functioning of company by motivating employees and meeting the
organisational goals. The managers of Tesco believe that there must be presence of effective

company to motivate employees and subordinated. This includes providing them monitory as
well as non monitory benefits. A motivated employee will work in more effective manner than a
demotivated employee. It is essential for each and every employee to be encouraged so that it is
easy to meet the organisational goals. Tesco is a big multinational company which emphasises
on motivating employees to meet organisational goals.

company is able to get best possible results and outcomes by having good balance between the

attaining organizational goals. For conducting a successful business, it is very important to

for companies to manage the encouraging of employees for enhancing overall performance.
There are various guidelines and principles for managing motivation of employees. There is need
for developing and creating positive work culture in order to gain success. The company gains
different benefits by motivating and encouraging employees. Motivation is the most important
element needed for managing and developing the performance of employees. Human resource
department of the company is responsible for managing the employee motivation and providing
them training so that goals can be accomplished (Schaltegger, and Burritt, 2017). Motivation is
useful for companies in order to secure the resources of company well and attaining
organizational goals. Qualifications and abilities of different employees is not same and hence,
companies must analyze all individuals before providing them benefits or incentives for
enhancing motivation. There is requirement of improving the motivational level of employees as
it leads to enhancing employee satisfaction. The human resource department of organization has
to manage the effectiveness of individual working so that goals can be attained in less time.
When employees are motivated then the level of employee satisfaction is enhanced (Stromquist,

After analyzing the above discussion, it is analyzed that for any organization, the utilization
of organization resources is important as it helps in managing the business activities properly.
There is need to develop and enhance the accounting and accessibility of business activities so
that work is managed properly. It is analyzed that motivation is needed for managing and
developing the business processes in effective manner. The energy, commitment and level of
creativity is defined as an important factor while managing the business processes. There are
different approaches that can be used by companies to encourage employees. Some of these are
incentives, health care facilities, employee stock, profit sharing, etc. There are several theories
used within Tesco to provide motivation among employees. They have to manage the
functioning of business activities propelry and develop new plans that can increase motivation.
There are following points that are to be remembered by an organization while motivating
employees –
 Enhancing communication – Mangers of the company can increase motivation among
the workers by talking to them effectively. This is important to manage the
functioning and develop effective plans for talking to workers. Proper instructions
and guidelines must be provided to employees so that they can be able to manage the
business processes.
 Providing flexible working hours – Companies can provide flexible working hours to
employees irrespective of the gender. When employees are provided equal rights
then they are more encouraged. It helps in managing the involvement of employees
within the company. There is requirement of developing strategies and plans for
motivating employees.
 Calendar adaptable hours – When employees are given effective working hours then
it is easy for the managers to have effective way to manage the business operations. It
is concluded that employees will feel satisfied when they are allowed to work
according to their preference of time.
 Plan authoritative gatherings from work – There are different companies and
organizations which provides strategic and planned way to provide motivation to
