Problem area
Soil erosion is one of the most important problems that can impact overall design and
construction of projects.
Due to this problems it becomes important for engineers, architects and other important
stakeholders to focus upon their designing and plan in such a manner that this problem
can be minimized.
For this many times stakeholders perform a land and soil test upon the land on which
construction will take place so that strength of the land can be identified. But still many
times this issue in civil engineering cannot be eliminated completely because soil
erosion of both construction site or nearby sites can increase risk.
Due to these factors it becomes important for construction organizations to focus upon
soil erosion problem in civil engineering design and construction.

Project Description
Project aim
The main aim of this project is to analyse ways in which soil erosion problem in civil engineering
design and construction can be reduced.
Project rationale
This project will focus upon exploring risk associated with soil erosion problem at construction site
and ways in which it can be resolved this is because in this industry more than 25 percent of project
fail due to soil erosion problem. No only this it further decreases overall quality of the building.
Project objectives
To identify reasons that causes soil erosion problem to occur civil engineering design and
construction sites.
To analyse different kinds of threats that can increase because of soil erosion
To evaluate different ways in which soil erosion risk within civil engineering design and
construction can be managed.

Recommendations
In order to increase visibility and transparency within the project so that it could have
been managed in a much better manner risk assessment could have been done by
including risk matrix in which likelihood and impact of the risk could have been
analysed in an much better and appropriate manner.
Stakeholder analysis could also have been done as it is one of the best and most
effective way of risk management within a project.

Conclusion
From the above project it has been summarized that risk management is one of the
most important part o a project can result in success or failure of a project.
For proper project management it is important for project manager to develop a proper
and clear scope of the project.
Defining a clear scope helps in identification of resources required, cost associated with
the project and time duration required to successfully achieve aim of the project.
