Impact of Diversity and Equality on Employee Performance - A Case Study on ASDA

This study investigates the impact of diversity and equality on employee performance in the context of ASDA. It aims to analyze the effectiveness of different strategies of gender equality in corporate organizations and identify the challenges faced in implementing equality and diversity. The study uses a qualitative research approach and collects primary data through a questionnaire. The findings suggest that diversity and equality have a positive impact on employee performance and help in gaining a competitive advantage.

INTRODUCTION
Equality and diversity are two crucial components for maintaining and developing an
organisational culture. It enables in improving employee performance and achieving of mission
and vison of business in order to gains level of competitive advantages against respective
competitors in among the business for more respective moments (Adamson and et.al 2016). In
more of today’s world the company is majorly developing more level of strategies in ways to
make the better place for employees with having payments of equal right as rather than paying
major avoidance between employee with term to gender discrimination.

BACKGROUND
The company ASDA in making with proper implementation for equal level of rights
along access to educations and opportunities to have equal development in order to have
succession in market development. The company is facing level of difficulties in developing the
appropriate strategies to prolong the issues. So, it has highly impacted on their overall growth

accomplishment of the research in appropriation of time period in developing more effective way

Research philosophy- It contains a framework on which overall research is based. It describes
the way in about overall purpose of research. here, interpretivism philosophy will be used.
Research approach – It refers to plan or procedure which states how data will be collected and
analysed. This is useful in conducting study in systematic manner and interpreting data as well.
In this research, deductive approach will be used by scholar.
Research type- It is the base of study which is related to collection of data. The information
gathered by scholar is useful in producing relevant results. the current study is based on
qualitative method.
Data collection- It is a way or process of collecting data. It is most important element in
methodology because overall results are based on this. Primary data will be gathered through
questionnaire.
Sampling – In order to collect data, scholar needs to select participants by dividing population
into categories. Random sampling method will be used and sample size is 100 employees.
Data analysis- It refers to interpreting data into relevant information so that aims and objectives
are attained. Thematic analysis will be done to obtain relevant data.

 One more recommendation that can be followed is asda can give rewards and incentives
to those employees who have behaved in well manner. this will be useful in encouraging
other staff as well.
 The HR manager and top management can form a policy in which punishment of
disrespect, discrimination, etc. are included. So, it will allow employees to follow that
policy and maintain equality and diversity. This will prevent discrimination, racism, etc.

 The company can also conduct some training and development courses. In that staff can
be taught lessons about benefit of equality in their career and personal growth
P7 Reflection
By conducting above report, I observed many things. In this first of all, I formulated aims
and objectives so that it becomes easy for me to carry out study. Here, I used interpretivism one
so that strategies are evaluated in depth. In addition to it, descriptive was used by me. This is
because I want to study more about equality and diversity. I also used primary data collection
method so that I can gather fresh data and info about latest practices and strategies are applied by
asda.
On contrary, I faced certain challenges as well. Firstly, I was not able to interpret data
properly. So, in this I took help of an expert. Moreover, I have used qualitative technique so that
reliable information can be conducted with use of thematic approach. Hence, probabilistic
technique has used to conduct the research activities and to conduct the data, sampling size as
100 has been taken.
CONCLUSION
It can be summarised from report that diversity and equality play crucial role in
organisational culture. there are several strategies which are followed by Asda. It has enabled in
maintaining HR practices and ensuring all employees are treated and respected equally. Through
it, efficiency and productivity is maintained. However, diversity allows staff to work in
teamwork and in effective way. Beside this, Asda is able to retain employees to a great extent.
The company is able to create and maintain a positive environment through equality and
diversity.
