INTRODCUTION
Talent management is the systematic process which involves the attracting and retaining
highly skilled people in the business and encourages them to give best performance in the job
place. The main goal of the talent management is to develop a motivated workforce who will
support company to stay long run in the business. From past few years, talent management has
become hot topic worldwide because it supports companies to develop competitive and
productive working environment in the workplace through which they enable to achieve all
proposed goals and objectives within timeframe (Meyers and et.al., 2020). In this research
assignment will discuss about different practices of talent management that adapts by company
in order to manage talent effectively. This research report will include different tools like
qualitative methods and primary and secondary data collection methods etc. which will support
to collect authentic data.
Background: Tesco is a multinational and general merchandise company which is
headquartered in London, UK. In this research assignment will include aims and objectives over
the proposed research topic.

Aim
• To study the practice of talent management and its importance within the workplace in
the retail industry of UK. A study on Tesco.
Objectives
 To study the concept of talent management in the retail industry of UK.
 To analyse the different methods and practices in managing the talent and its impact in
the Tesco.
 To identify the challenges which can be raised in the company while implementing the
practices of talent management.

 To recommend various strategies which can be used by retail companies like esco to
bring improvement in their talent management practices.
Research Questions
 What is the concept of talent management in the retail industry of UK?
 What are the different methods and practices in managing the talent and what is its
impact on Tesco?
 What challenges can be raised while implementing the practices of talent management?
 What strategies can be recommended to Tesco so that its talent management practices can
be improved?
Project Management Plan
 Scope: Talent management has become one of the most discussing topic for the people
across the world because it has huge in the UK’s market. The reason behind is that it
supports companies to develop highly competent and skilled workforce in the workplace
who puts excellent efforts to make the business effective and achieves it’s all proposed
goals and objectives.
 Resources: For this research, I will use fewer resources i.e. social media, internet, online
published research papers and articles (From 2012 t0 2020) etc. These are important
resources through which I will collect all adequate data over the proposed research topic
‘talent management’.
 Communication: Open communication is used by the Tesco so that workers and
employees can communicate with each other effectively regrading to their issues and
raise creative solution together to solve proposed issues (Kamal and Lukman, 2017).
 Quality: To maintain quality of the project, qualitative method will use which can use for
quantitative method as well.
 Cost: This research project will take around € 4000 sum to complete overall project
effectively.
 Risk: Limited availability of resources can be a downside for the research project but it
can be minimized by using available resource in effectively manner.
