Telstra is a global telecommunication company that is committed to creating a great work
place for its employees. They believe that a connected people bring more opportunities.
Therefore, they seek to empower their employees by creating connections. Telstra understands
that empowering employees gives them morale to perform better and increase their output hence
achieve goals of the company. Due to their diversity and inclusion workplace policies, the
company has efficient internal marketing strategies that has propelled it to the top (Alisha, 2015).
This paper, therefore, discusses Telstra’s statements regarding employees/careers and practices
for internal marketing activities.
The Telstra website gives us information regarding their employees and careers practices
and how they impact internal marketing activities. The company employs amazing approaches to
work flexibility that has gained a huge reputation among the employees. Through the “All Roles
Flex” program (Telstra.com.au., 2016), the company gives the staff an opportunity to define
several flexible means towards their work as well as apply flexibility in their roles. The website
also reveals that adoption of diverse and inclusive workplace practices has encouraged greater
participation and helps in development of strong internal connections among the employees
(Telstra.com.au., 2018). Telstra understands the importance of creating a conducive environment
and offering job satisfaction to employees. Through this they are able to create a customer-
centric culture and improve internal marketing activities such as employee value preposition,
employee satisfaction, and employee performance (Clarke, 2018). Eventually, the overall
performance of the company is improved. We understand through their website they value a
culture that is customer focused and collaborative hence enhancing innovation in line with the
overall corporate strategy.
