Job Advertisement
BIMA international is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to fill the
position of a marketing coordinator. The company is looking for a high-performing marketing
expert to help the firm meet our customers’ needs while enhancing the revenue growth targets of
the company. As a marketing coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, implementing
and managing all the marketing operations of the company.
Duties
1. Compile and evaluate advertising campaign proposals. Thus, the applicant must possess
the ability to draft annual advertising campaign plans.
2. Assessment of and yearly reporting on promotional campaigns.
3. Coordination and supervision of offline and online advertising campaigns on newspapers,
magazines, and digital media.
4. Compile and analyze statistical data and presentation of reports.
5. Develop and implement marketing strategies for the company.
6. Any other duties related to the advertised position.
Qualifications
Post-graduate degree or Masters in marketing.
At least 1 year experience in a marketing related position
Good communication skills in both written and verbal English
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

In my previous employment, I was charged with the responsibility of introducing a new brand of
soap to a novel market niche. Thus, the team had to create a strategy which we incorporated and
integrated it with a campaign.
Kindly provide us with an example of a marketing campaign that you have taken part in
and consider to be very successful.
I have also taken part in the marketing campaign of a lady’s lotion called the Lady Care Lotion.
The campaign was very successful and brought the company a lot of revenue.

Yes, I once worked on a marketing campaign that was not successful. It was for a male fragrance
called Mr Man. It was at the beginning of my career and the campaign failed. However, the team
learnt a lot from the failure and since then has run successful campaigns.

Why it is important to build a personal brand
It is imperative to point out that creating a string personal brand is critical for a successful career
development. Firstly, creating a personal brand helps one to improve and enhances an
individual’s standards and separates them from competition. As such, it helps one set the tone
about their expertise and create a good reputation for oneself (Saltzman, 2015). Additionally,
developing a personal brand allows professionals to establish themselves as an expert in their
field (Saltzman, 2015). As such, I helps professional establish an image of themselves as leaders
in the field and helps them apart from the rest of the professionals in the same field. What’s
more, it helps an individual to define what they stand for and believe in and, therefore, attracts
new employers who seek experienced professionals in that particular field. The direction that
people find through personal branding is conducive to a progressive mindset (Saltzman, 2015).
Therefore, developing a personal brand helps to improve the overall chances of gaining
employment within one’s field of specialization by increasing the overall standards of the
individual and improving the chances of success.
How to improve one’s skills for an interview
Before presenting oneself for an interview, it is important that the applicant to prepare well and
improve their skills for the interview. The first step to improving one’s skills for an interview is
to develop a good verbal and non-verbal communication. In this case, the applicant should
demonstrate confidence on the day of the interview by making eye contact, standing and sitting
upright, among other non-verbal cues (Moran, 2011). One should also develop critical listening
skills. From the start to the end of the interview, the interview should pay keen interest on what
the interviewer is saying and failing to listen may cause him or her to miss out on a major
opportunity (Zhang, 2011). The interviewee should also focus on delivery instead of giving
rehearsed answers. He or she must know the contents of his/her resume and be able to
comprehensively articulate and answer the interviewers’ questions without hesitation (Moran,
2011). Most importantly, the individual must find as much information about the company
beforehand in order to establish exactly what the company needs and why they are hiring.
Module Topic of interest
In this unit, we have learnt various aspects and topics throughout the semester. Of all the topics
learnt in class, the topic on ethics captured my interest as a student. Mainly, this is because the
concept of ethics has become an important aspect in today’s world. Through the unit, we learnt
that not only are employers required to operate in an ethical manner, also employees are
expected to conduct themselves in an ethical manner. In the same way, students are expected to
conduct themselves in an ethical manner throughout their academic life. By and large, the
knowledge and concepts learnt in this unit will go a long way in improving my ethical conduct in
my future employment.
