INTRODUCTION
Marketing essential is defined as the tool which is used by the business for identifying
consumers’ needs and maintaining prominent relationship with them (Deepak and Jeyakumar,
2019). This tool is assisting business for making strategies by which they can meet need and earn
immense profits. In the current market scenario, the prominent requirement of a business is to
make strategies for enhancing value for customer and appreciate their relationships which could
lead in attainment of sustainability. For the major purpose to attain high market share this is
required that robust and innovative marketing strategies made by them which leads the business
to accomplish their targets in least time and attain sustainability as well. For the project,
considered organisation is Burberry which is a UK based luxury fashion retailer specialised in
selling fashionable ready to wear clothing, footwear, fashion accessories and many more. It was
established by Thomas Burberry in the year 1856 that emphasis towards developing outdoor
attire and type of fabric which is known as Gabardine.
This report discusses about role and responsibilities of marketing along with interrelation
with some other functional units. It also includes comparison among two entities for using
marketing mix elements. At last, it includes a discussion that is associated with preparation of a
organisational marketing plan for attaining their long term objectives.
TASK 1
P1. Roles and responsibilities of marketing department/function
Marketing function is said to an organisational department which looks after tactics od
promotion, market research and sales. Organisational marketing function promotes brand image
together with drives sales of offerings (Mothersbaugh, Hawkin and Kleiser, 2019). As per
dependence of organisational hierarchy, marketing director and manager are at helm. Within the
establishment, marketing function is important as it promotes business together with mission. At
same time, it acts as face of venture, coordinates and prepares essential materials that represents
brand in competitive market. The marketing department within an organisation is responsible for
executing numerous roles and responsibilities so as to attain organisational goals and aims in
effective manner. Marketing department is one of the most crucial department which is
performing their task for managing and up keeping brand image in the market.
