The process of 3D printing incorporates selectiveaddition of the thin layers one after another instead of machining from the solid material objects.Researches prove that the technology of 3D printing has potential to bring in a much neededchange in the traditional manufacturing process (Campbell & Ivanova, 2013). This is the reasonwhy 3D printing is considered as a truly disruptive technology which is exploited only by a smallnumber of global adopters. The purpose of this report is to investigate the advantages of 3Dprinting so that the report can be drafter in the next meeting of a medium sized ICT organization.The organisation was established 10 years ago and currently the organization serves bothcorporate and the retail clients. The organization is planning to make use of 3D printing as a wayof designing costs effective products. The decision will be mainly based on the effectivenesswith which 3D printing can have a variety of applications in manufacturing. Since the use of 3Dprinting might provide an effective and efficient way to expand the business, it is necessary toinvestigate the technology of 3D printing in an effective manner. The report will analyse fivedifferent applications of 3D printing and will propose three applications that is based on 3Dprinting.
