Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this statement as an application for the Master of Business Administration at
this University during the next learning session. Having thought about it critically, I believe that
undertaking this program will be of great importance in quest to gain the necessary skills in the
business and management world (Baruch, & Lavi-Steiner, 2015). I have sat down and analyzed
the kind of knowledge and skills I would like to gain in this field and looking at the University’s
course outline, a greater percentage of the contents in it are in line with my personal interests in
business administration. Also, the university has thrown up quite a number of successful
graduates who are able to compete favorably in the job market (Samraj, & Monk, 2008). This is
one of the reasons I chose to apply for admission at the University since I would also like to be
one of those individuals who drink in knowledge and skills in unlimited levels from the
University and be able to favorably pursue and arrive at my career ambitions (Quinn, Bright,
Faerman, Thompson, & McGrath, 2014).
I have made great steps in in regards to gaining the necessary knowledge and skills in
business administration since I have a Diploma in Business Administration (from 2015-07 –
2016-05), an Associate Degree in Business Administration (from 2015-07 – 2017-02) and the
Level 8 (postgraduate) Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, all obtained from
Maldives Business School.
After graduating with the above qualifications, have been able to gain some relevant
work experience in this field as follows; I have worked as an Office Assistant at Royal Island
Resort & Spa (2008-01 - 2009-11), Assistant Manager, Procurement & Administration at
Wallmark Private Limited (2009-11 -2010-08), Human Resources Officer at Clique College
(2010-08 - 2013-08), Assistant Manager, Human Resources at Thilafushi Corporation Limited
(2013-03 - 2018-03) and currently as an Assistant Manager, Human Resources at Greater Male’
Industrial Zone Limited starting from 2018-03. During this period, I added a lot of value to my
expertise in business administration and I was also relied upon by the respective companies as a
very vital asset Kerzner, & Kerzner, 2017). . I was always more than willing to offer my best
provided a conducive environment is set for me. I have such technical skills as being able to
think critically since one is likely to encounter a situation that requires appropriate decision-
making, and I have a commitment to development since the business world is subject to
dynamism (Hatch, 2018) and I should be better placed to embrace the change so as to be up-to-
date with what needs to be done (Hesselbarth, & Schaltegger, 2014). I also have good
communication skills, I’m always confident no matter the kind of situation I find myself into,
and always embracing teamwork. My personal qualities include being flexible, being able to pay
attention to details, good interpersonal skills and emotionally stable, and also possess skills in
solving problems.
Basing on my achievements so far both academically and professionally, I can state
without hesitating that I have laid down a very solid background for myself when it comes to
business administration processes and thus I will need minimal supervision and give the best

output as far as exams and projects are concerned. I can state that I will be an honor to the
University and not a disappointment. Coupled with my academic and professional achievements
is my prowess in communicating excellently both verbally and in writing, commitment towards
my work, being confident of handling even the most difficult tasks, being a critical thinker,
creative and innovative, and conducting myself ethically personally and professionally (Collins,
2018). These are the qualities that helped me to gain respect from by superiors and colleagues in
all the companies I have worked for.
I have made the necessary preparations both academically and personally and with this, I
can confirm that am going to make sure that life at the University is free from problems so that I
can achieve my goal of gaining knowledge and skills in Business Administration. This will
enable me to have an added advantage in the labor market and accomplish my career aspirations.
I have also made the necessary preparations with regards to the entrance examination in case it
will be a requirement by the university. Attached to this letter are all the necessary documents
required for admission including reference letters from my previous colleges attended, transcripts
and project outlines. Please let me know if there are any other documents required in the process
of my admission to the University.
Thanks in advance for giving me your precious time and consideration.
Yours faithfully,
