 Emotional intelligence and diversity basically comprises of the ability to manage, feel,
understand, articulate and applying the power of emotions for the purpose to interact with
lines of difference. The concept of diversity involves those aspects that could be understood as
the multiple dimensions.
 In this presentation, the chosen company is Mediacom which is one of the winners from the
last three years of the Australian HR institute( AHRI) diversity related awards. In reference to
the organisation, it is one of the leading media communications specialists located in North
Sydney.
Introduction

 MediCom is basically an Australian company which applies “Systems Thinking” technology
and philosophy to all the marketing levers which comprises of data, media and message. The
organisation basically design communication strategies for the purpose to deliver short term
results and also supporting the brands to build for the future.
Company’s Context and choice of diversity group

 Accountability and Educate: In context to the creation of the Global Belonging Council,
which is basically a diverse mix of individuals coming from various parts of the companies
who are accountable for the MediaCom’s Global ExCo.
 The company basically works with GroupM and WPP colleagues for the purpose to ensure
and drive sustainable change.
Two Specific Initiatives

 In context to Diversity, it plays a very important because representation at everywhere and not
only in the workplace. It is very important to remember that representation is considered to be
the progressive environment.
 In context to Mediacom, the organisation wanted to foster a culture empathy and inclusion
and want to focus on celebrating the uniqueness of their employees.
Analysis of the company’s approach to their diversity category

 Promoting Team Work: In reference to the company, another approach used is promoting team
work. In reference to Teamwork, it is basically the collaborative effort of the members of the
team or a group for the purpose to achieve a desired objective or goal for the purpose to
complete a task in a effective and efficient manner.

 From the above presentation, it can be concluded that diversity plays a very important role in
the organisation and for the purpose to promote diversity in the workplace, it is very important
to promote diversity training, promoting team work and making the process of inclusion a
priority.
