ASSESSMENT TASK 1
a) List the sequence of operation that will be needed for building the construction.
Construction of a building is a process which is complete in parts to reach to a final result.
The major of construction are marking, concreting, excavation, brick masonry, flooring,
finishing and laying. Following are the steps used in construction of a building,
Paper work: A layout is prepared before starting the actual construction process.
Marking of Layout: A layout is marked by the engineer on the building is to constructed.
Excavation: It is carried out according to the drawing of the site, it is associated with the
construction of wall.
Foundation work: It is the basic foundation on which the whole building will be built.
Column Casting: It lays a foundation for the of walls and roof, it takes at least 24 hours to
settle.
Construction of walls: It is constructed with the bricks, precast, wooden and others
material as well.
Roofing: Roof slab is imposed on the base constructed in the earlier steps.
Plastering Work: form work is removed after 14 of pouring. After this only plaster work
starts.
Fixing of doors and windows: It has seen over the years that windows and doors are of
wood.
Tiles laying: Firstly, the walls tiles are fixed and then floor tiles are fixed. Material such
as granite, tiles, marble, epoxy are also used.
Painting: At last painting is done, after which it resembles the same picture as of in the
first step it designed.
b) Prepare a contingency plan for overcoming the delays in project which can be caused by bad
weather.
A contingency plan is made for recovering to the prospective problems that may occur during
the completion of the project. It is made to solve or control the high hampered risks that will
disrupt the operation of the project activities. In this, the risk that may occur and the solution
behind that is:

1. Breaking of machines: The probability of risk is high in the condition of bad weather,
components and elements of the machinery failure due to the inventory or maintenance
problems. The production measures need to be taken all around to escalate and solve the
issue faced in the machinery and a maintenance team should be organisation.
2. Outage of power: Mostly in the case of bad weather condition, the electricity fails which
creates a problem of power. So, for this the emergency power backups should be ready
for preventing the safety issues and any kind of casualties on the site.
3. Network outage: The risk probability is high and the network and system designed to
lead to failure in the condition of bad weather. So, the backup top the system and the files
should be made.
c) Create a network diagram and indicate the critical path.
