Vignette 1.
XYZ, a boy of 17 years of age was admitted to the emergency ward as his family
witnessed his uncontrolled aggressive behavior. His parents stated to the psychiatrist that
their child was found to be reacting in a different and unusual manner. He believed that he
was being monitored by someone always because he has some power to communicate
through telepathy. XYZ’s parent also reported that he has been facing difficulty in addressing
his academics and was always stressed and worried regarding his studies. After a few
discussions, it was found that XYZ had a family history of bipolar disorder. Interviewing him
gave the professionals an idea that he has been facing severe mental disorder (Vancampfort et
al. 2015).
Vignette 2.
Mr. PQR, an adult of age 35 opted for psychiatrist stating that he has been having
difficulty in concentrating at his workplace and also that he is not able to sleep at night and
still does not feels sleepy the next day. He also states that he feels energetic even though he is
not getting any sleep. He was being examined by the psychiatrist after an interview session
that he has some serious issues that were reflected in his behavior as he made inappropriate
comments throughout the interview and also started staring at a blank wall for some times as
if he is thinking something. After the assessment, it was found that he had been going through
depression counseling for the past few months after the incident of his wife’s death (Goodwin
et al. 2016).
Vignette 3.
Mrs. ABC, a lady at her early 30s was brought to the hospital by her husband on an
emergency basis stating that her wife has been trying to cut herself with any sharp object she
finds nearby. This incident was taking place for the last 3 months and he also states that her
