INTRODUCTION
Mental illness refers to mental health which can include range of mental health
conditions. This may also include disorders that can affect individual behavior, thinking and
mood. Mental illness refers to a health condition that can involve distress and problem that can
be there due to functioning in work, social or family activities. Mental illness can be diagnosed.
This can include significant changes in individual behavior, emotion and thinking. It also
includes problem functioning with social life, work-life or family activities. In this essay, there is
a discussion about the common mental health and enduring mental health issues which can also
include critical analysis of contemporary approaches along with intervention that can be applied
within mental healthcare. This essay also includes a diagnosis of the mental health-related issue
and its implication (Jetelina et. al., (2020)). This essay also includes the protective factor which
can reduce the risk for the client. There is also a discussion about the possible causes for the
mental illness with linking to the biopsychosocial model. There is also a discussion about
possible treatment or intervention which can support the case study and link with the
biopsychosocial model.
MAIN BODY
Every individual needs to stay healthy which is also needed to take care of the physical
along with mental health. Individual mental health should include emotional, cognitive and
behavioral well-being. It is about the thinking, feeling and behaving of any individual in
presence of mental illness. There is a need to get health care support along with diagnosis and
treatment to improve health that can enable individuals to stay healthy. Mental health includes
the foundation of thinking, emotion and communication (Timmer et. al., (2021)). It also includes
resilience, self-esteem and learning which can be effective and help in establishing a better
relationship through contributing to the community or society. There are a large number of
people who are facing discrimination and have various types of mental illness disorder which
needs to be taken into consideration and should provide proper treatment and intervention. This
can enable them to live effectively which may include medical conditions like heart disease or
diabetes. Here, mental health conditions are related with the help of proper medication and
therapy. It is essential to get better care and provide proper therapy to an individual with mental
illness (Castillejos Anguiano et. al., (2019)).
