Q1.
Introduction
There are various types of disorders that affect the mental health of a human being. One
of the most common disorder is Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD). This is characterized
by a person getting worried persistently about an issue or various issues (Hofmann &
Hinton,2014).
A person affected with GAD sees things negatively and predicts disaster concerning
matters such as family, work, or their health. The small things in life which are least to worry
an average person usual worries a person with GAD and it significantly affect the mental

health of the individual. On the other hand, panic disorder is described as a type of anxiety
disorder which causes a person to get sudden shock even when there is no apparent danger.
One of the significant differences between generalized anxiety disorder and panic attack is
that for GAD, there are direct symptoms whereas panic attack is accompanied by various
symptoms such as an increase in heartbeat, chest pains and difficulties in breathing, dizziness
as well as profuse sweating (Olasoji, Maude, Sharrock & Wilson, 2017). Another difference
between GAD and panic attacks is that GAD is caused by something that has been lingering
in the mind of an individual for a significant period while panic attacks can happen at any
place and time without any warning or prior sign (Levett-Jones, 2017). Another main
difference between GAD and panic disorder is that GAD is characterized by a person getting
worried over the events that occur in their daily lives while a panic attack is characterized by
recurring seizures. A person diagnosed with GAD may find it difficult to fall asleep or to stay
asleep while a panic attack does not result in difficulties in sleeping.
Conclusion
GAD results in digestive issues and stomach discomfort, which may last for some time
for the patient, whereas panic attacks lead to stomach pain, but it disappears within a short
period. Another difference between GAD and panic disorder is that GAD is diagnosed when
a person finds it difficult to control their worry, and it persists for more than 6 six months
while panic disorder is diagnosed when a person experiences the attacks consistently due to a
particular stimulus.
