Mental health problems refer to illnesses that lead to severe disturbance and emotional
problems in one’s behavior and thoughts, leading to incapability to cope with one’s normal
demands and procedures. Mental health problem affects the way a person thinks, feel or behave.
There are different approaches to mental health problems.
Types of Mental Health Problems
There exist different categories of mental health complications including depression,
obsessive-compulsive disorder personality disorder, eating disorder and bipolar disorder among
others ( Katherine , 2016).
Depression
This refers to a sensation of low disposition that persists for long and disturbs a person’s
everyday life. It can easily make one feel despondent, mortified, worthless and apathetic. It
affects ones self-drive, sleep and appetite. There are two types of depression including perinatal
depression and periodic affective depressive disorder.
Nervousness
This is a strong feeling of restlessness, apprehension, and fear. Since anxiety is an
occasional experience in human beings, most people fail to understand that it is a mental
disorder. If anxiety lasts for long, it can be noted when a person has constant worries, has
unpleasant physical symptoms or even a person has a particular anxiety disorder.
