MAIN BODY
Defining the problem
BHP group is multinational company in terms of mining industry and create a huge
amount output of fossil fuel and metals which results in productivity(Chen and et.al., 2021.). For
mining industry, there main execution on the earth crust for extraction of metals by using
different technologies. Fossil fuel is formed from dead decaying organism which buried under
sea for billions of year that convert into fossil fuel. Metals are extract form Earth crust in the
form ore (many impurities are also present with the main product) then metal is abstract form
metal ore by process of metallurgy. GHP group face many problem in abstracting of metals. Dust
leads to health hazard in mining of iron ore and BHP have abstract large amount of iron in every
year. Dust have grater issue in Australia then company have to look upon that issue.

A huge amount of water and minerals are abstract out by BHP and try to overcome that
crises by solving problem but this recovery may take time of 100 or 200 years and for survival of
living being that is not possible that was also a big problem for BHP group because excessive
use of resources may leads to degradation in the share of minerals because government apply
more taxes so rate increase that leads to loss of company (Nikulin, Ikonnikov and Dolzhikov,
2019.). Fossil fuel is present in the limited quantity and excess use of fossil fuel leads in
degradation in quantity and BHP have many plants of fossil fuel extraction and pipe lines for
transportation of oil ans fuel. Mostly vehicle dependent on fuel because they are fuel efficient.
Many target audience shift to electric vehicle because the cost of petrol and diesel increase
drastically in pat few years because they are present in quantity in the earth so BHP may faces
loss on decreasing in demand of fuels. Government also take a major decision on that issue and
charge accordingly.

Reusing mining waste
Mining is the process in which metal ore can be extract out and mining produce large
amount of waste as bioproduct with the metal ore such waste are found in form of rocks, tailing
and water (which is not useful for drinking purpose). Mining waste can be reused for different
purpose i.e. tock is used in construction, water can be used in agriculture sector and even tailing
is also used for different purpose such as bricks production, paint etc. which depends on the
chemical composition and mineral type. Reuse of mining waste reduce pollution in terms of
water and air. Proper utilisation of mineral waste can prevent the environmental damage and that
create positive impact on the profile of company. In a multinational mining company the amount
of waste are extract in large quantity so it is necessary to reuse waste in proper manner which
results in increase in market value.

Eco-friendly machinery
Mining company require machine for extracting minerals and ores, and they want to
reduce environmental impact by substituting or replacing machines with battery driven
equipments because old machinery want fuel for their functioning . Amount of fuel is decreasing
day by day with increasing in growth of population and their needs and fuels emit CO2 while
putting it in a machine that also creates pollution in the environment which results in disturbance
in environment. Using of electric machinery of mining reduce the CO2 amount and saving of
carbon. Mining industry moving in a field of electric equipment and work as eco-friendly
equipment. Electric machinery may reduce cost of maintenance and increase in durability. Eco-
friendly machinery are very beneficiary for mining company and have great result.
Rehabilitation of mining sites
Mining sites are basically operated outside the city area where population count is less
because mining sector creates disturbance on peoples adversely in terms of health, surrounding
etc. (Verchagina, Kolechkina. and Grigashkina, 2021). modern technologies cause negative
effect the environment because excessive practice of mining result in stripping of top soil and
upper layer of soil is essential for plant growth and acidity of water but it may remove by mining
process that result in barren land or soil erosion. So for reducing acidity of soil and soil erosion,
mining companies rehabilitate barren land in productive by use of biosolids which creates a
positive impact and soil restore their capability of fertility. For reducing soil erosion company
work on reforestation by which surrounding environment doesn't get extremely affected and
nearby population also face any difficulty. Reforestation reduces the air pollution in the
surrounding area of mines that creates a positive impact on the environment.

Recycling of water
In mining process, excessive amount of water is also used and high consumption of
water in mining process leads in increasing amount of waste water or in form of sludge that
creates a great destruction on environment which also effect nearby places drastically(Talbot and
Barbat, 2020. ). Mining sites are generally located at isolated area which means outside to the
crowded area the main reason behind that is mining wastewater has rich in minerals and if it
flows in sewerage at last sewerage water mixed with water bodies that effect aquatic life
drastically that creates a negative point on the environment. So sewerage line is also not present
at location of mining company. Mining company make private pit for storing waste water and
filter it by various equipments and recycling system such as belt skimmer etc. (Kinnunen and
et.al., 2021).
Mining techniques with lower impact
At early phase of mining industry they create a huge loss to environment in terms of loss
forestry, wildlife and natural resources by various methods such as underground mining. But in
Australia many modern technique adopted by the company for extraction of mineral in which
one is in-situ leaching technique. It is one of the most accepted technique which is followed for
extracting minerals. This technique didn't have major impact on environment.
In-situ leaching technique consist in a mining process which basically deals with
extraction of solid part or solute particles from the earth crust without undergoing any
underground mining process. Leaching solution is put into the hole that dissolve metal ore
which present in the earth's crust then pumped it out only solid particle are extract out by tis
process.
Selection of an Effective Solution
The BHP group is multinational mining company in the world which extract minerals and
oil by process of metallurgy (Blazquez, Domenech and Garcia-Alvarez-Coque, 2018). Mining
water in mining process leads in increasing amount of waste water or in form of sludge that
creates a great destruction on environment which also effect nearby places drastically(Talbot and
Barbat, 2020. ). Mining sites are generally located at isolated area which means outside to the

Selection of an Effective Solution
The BHP group is multinational mining company in the world which extract minerals and
oil by process of metallurgy (Blazquez, Domenech and Garcia-Alvarez-Coque, 2018). Mining
company is essential for extraction of metal and minerals some are essential for human also for
their basic need. For effective growth and survival ship BHP group focus on the rehabilitation of
existing mining site. Mineral mining impact on the underground water, land, surrounding flora
and fauna. The mining company operates outside the central region because it affects life cycle
of human and living beings. Repeated practice of mining on the same land may decrease soil
fertility and that land convert into barren land. So bio product is applied on that land to increase
fertility (Lima and et.al., 2016.). During mining process or operation, pollution increase such as
soil pollution, air pollution and water pollution. By this pollution environment affect drastically
so for putting down the affect of pollution BHP should work on that solution for improving the
quality of air in surrounding. Planting of trees creates a positive impact on the company profile
because neighbouring region didn't drastically effect by the company.
For growth of company this is main point of concern because if environment affect and
that leads in destruction in nature which reflects the company image in negative way, even the
production rate is high but the management of resources also important for growth of company.
For achieving higher number of shares BHP look on every aspect by which the pollution rate
decrease and no negative effect on the surrounding. Increase in pollution rate or destruction on
nature is a serious issue for mining industry. BHP has large production rate so it is necessary for
company to survive for long time in the market place. Rehabilitation of mining company is
efficient and affordable to the BHP company. Company should focus on that solution by which
face value of BHP is increase and that enhance growth of company. For continuous growth of
BHP company, they should focus on that region by applying proper strategy plan in
management which focus on the nature.

Every solution have its negative points and it has too. For reforestation process, trees and
soil take time for their growth which may leads to continuous increase in pollution rate in the
near region of mines. At the initial stage of planting, plant didn't give enough oxygen to
surrounding by which toxic gases mix with above environment that may dissolve so that
temperature of surface increase and effect of global warming could be seen. The plantation is
good for environment but it is more important for company to look on immediate transformation
on surrounding by decreasing pollution rate. If above environment get affected by the
disturbance in nature such as green house effect, global warming etc. (Mardonova and Choi,
2018.). creates a loss to company and also harmful for employees, workers and people which are
lived in near range of mines (Werner and et.al., 2020.). The disturbance in human's life may
leads in action of government which result in loss of productivity and productivity.
Brief discussion on rehabilitation of mining presenting it to key stakeholder
Rehabilitation of mining means that the company execute plan for betterment of region in
terms of environment so that surroundings didn't get affected by the pollution and other mining
process. Minerals are important but conventional technologies is essential for mining and
extraction of oils (Sauer and Hiete, 2019.). BHP group should opt rehabilitation technique for
reducing the negative impact of company on the environment. Rehabilitation plan of mining
industry should follow by each company for their growth and survival ship in the marketplace.
BHP group should establish areas which are necessary for mining i.e. shaping of area for
draining of sludge and other waste material that is termed as dunes. Rehabilitation technique also
help in increasing top soil fertility because continuous practice of mineral extraction leads in
wash of top soil that may creates difficulty for survival of organism which are important for
nitrogen fixation which also increase fertility of quality and min function of soil is in crop
production if the soil is not nourished so it causes negative effect on the soil. Environment is

Stakeholder plays a crucial part in every sector of mining industry. The key stakeholder
for rehabilitation mainly focus on the procedure of apply technique in improving the
environment condition. BHP Group have many shareholders and creditors which invest on the
projects of sustainability for gaining interest at high rate by company on proper execution>
shareholder primary concern is to earn profit by investing capital in firm (Innis and Kunz 2020.).
For any plan execution, BHP group first analysis potential of plan than legally execute their plan
under government rules and regulation by which company is under guidance of government. By
growth and effective results of execution plan must have environmentalist. Environmental group
is important for mining industry to maintain balance between BHP group and nature because
excess use of resource may leads in destruction of natural habitat and living beings also get
affected by disturbance. For management of plan supervisor is also had its position in the mining
industry for managing every process in an appropriate manner. For implementation of
rehabilitation plan labour is also played and essential part because it is not possible to execute
plan without them. For rehabilitation of mining raw material is also required so supplier must be
there to calculate actual quantity of material and machinery so plan should be proposed in
appropriate manner that is feasible for growth of BHP group.
Feedback from the key stakeholders
From the above brief, the key stakeholder are satisfied with the plan and technique but
some challenges and drawback also arises in execution of plan. BHP group is largest in minerals
ore extraction so for effective growth of company it is necessary to maintain and solve the
consequences for growth of company which may also create higher positioning in the market
place that results in company's profitability (Ramírez and Tarziján, 2018.).

1. Shareholders are concern with the environmental impact of mining, so they have to invest
on plan but it would lead in loss of production because rehabilitation plan was execute
accordingly if company stop operation process for some time.
2. Supervisor concern about plan but for rehabilitation plan of mine leads numerous labour
work that require place where they can live for some time at the time of execution which
is near to mine.
3. Supplier didn't know distribution of land in particular region so that is difficult to make
rough estimate on the area because BHP group is spread in many regions of Australia
(Argus and Samson, 2021).
4. Labour didn't know the process of rehabilitation and BHP group had amount of labour,
but they lack in knowledge so that create difficulty in work process.
Approval of proposed solution
BHP group is spread in Australia there are many branches of this company which mainly
deals with the extraction of mineral ore, and they also focused on fossil fuels. Above topic
discussed on the drawback or challenges faced by company at that time of execution of
rehabilitation plan by which land get restore in terms of soil and in near region of mining sides
have high rate of inflammation of diseases so for overcome to that situation company should
work on rehabilitation plan and in execution some feedback appear on the basis of stakeholder
firstly company focus on the shareholder problem. The main problem arise on execution of plan
is decline in productivity of BHP group (Loyko, Sadovskaia and Solovenko, 2020.). So company
should decide to resolve this problem by set a fixed time duration for execution of plan and that
time period is of one month. Rehabilitation plan execute on every mine of BHP group but time
interval is different so the production didn't get affected at larger scale and one other thing that
company may opt is increase in working hours of labour and management team at all other sites
on plan but it would lead in loss of production because rehabilitation plan was execute
accordingly if company stop operation process for some time.

carried out according to requirement and when this rehabilitation process comes to end with
beginning in the operation process the company work with better machinery and healthy
environment so it should enhance the profit margin by providing quality product
Numerous labour is required for plan they all want place of living because mines are

small place should be given to them. Provide proper training to those worker which do not have
proper knowledge on the rehabilitation. That training is more beneficiary for growth and
production of company that creates a positive impact on the profile of company. As BHP is
largest among mining industry in Australia and geographically it spread over a large area so it
also creates degradation in execution because supervisor did not know actual area so that is quite
difficult to calculate the amount of raw material required and also number of trees, bioproduct
