Introduction
This Learning Through Organisation module plays an essential role in cultivating the
qualities and attitudes that are necessary for professional success. It gives participants the
tools they need to construct a Personal Development Plan which covers their educational,
personal, and professional objectives. The initial section of the curriculum explored Cottrell's
(2019) C.R.E.A.M. approach which centres on learning techniques that are reflective,
motivated, inventive, productive, and effective. These conferences assisted learners with
their job mapping, self-reflection, and task completion. This paper offers an analysis of the
insightful lessons gained from the framework and considers the influence of Personal
Development Plans (PDP) and weekly learning logs on development. It examines personal
traits that may be improved, such as organisational and time management skills, while at the
same time illuminating qualities like self-awareness and realism.
Key insights into learning on the module
The Professional Practice module gives students knowledge to boost their self-awareness
and reflectivity. Along with this, personal and professional qualities are necessary for
personal growth and keeping a high standard of professionalism while at work. When private
values and corporate values go together, it shows true professionalism and accountability.
Apart from that, emotional intelligence is also an important quality employers look for; as it
affects a major portion of an organization's success (as per Cotrus et al., 2012; Goleman,
1996). By combining logic with EQ qualities including sympathy and interpersonal skills,
emotional intelligence can lead to both individual and professional accomplishments. In
conclusion, by taking into account personal values and improving emotional intelligence, an
individual can develop their self-awareness, stay professionally respectable, and better their
chances of obtaining success in the personal and professional spheres.
My strengths
Upon reflection, I have come to understand that I have an aptitude for adapting to change
and being steadfast in my spirit. Studies have demonstrated that people with high resilience
are better suited at managing difficult circumstances (American Psychological Association,
n.d.). My targeted effort in self-development has ramped up my proficiency and increased
my achievements both in my personal and professional realm (Torrington, Hall, & Taylor,
2017). By applying the concepts of favorable psychology such as the awareness of one's
self and an ambitious attitude, I've achieved results greater than I ever imagined (Seligman,
2011). Additionally, my capability to turn adversity into prospects for growth has enabled me
to overcome any hindrances and stay determined as I'm striving toward my objectives
(Dweck, 2006).
My areas of development
(MN4W50QA) - Professional Practice : Learning Through Organisations_2

After considering my personal development plan and studying my learning logs, I determined
that I need to upgrade my communication abilities. I have had difficulty concisely expressing
my opinions and intentions, most often in team settings, causing problems and difficulty in
understanding. To tackle this challenge, I am going to be reading more regarding successful
communication strategies and try to apply them often. In addition, I will ask people I trust for
feedback and advice so I can achieve a clearer understanding of the areas I need to work on
and come up with ways to make progress in those areas. With these steps, I am sure that I
will become a better communicator and do considerably better in all aspects of my life.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Personal Development Plan and learning logs gave me the essential
opportunity to analyze my positive and negative aspects and evaluate ways to improve upon
them. By doing this, I broadened my understanding of myself and gained the approach to
overcoming difficult scenarios like the one expounded by Dweck (2017). The Personal
Development Episodes have helped me create attainable and time-based goals and a
strategy to address these areas. As for dealing with charged emotions, I plan to look into the
Freedom programme for domestic violence, the All Together programme for anti-bullying,
and the Cygnet programme for autism-related issues. Additionally, I plan to take the courses
provided to tackle my challenges with anxiety and incorporate the learned techniques into
my regular routine.
