Generally, the society has become a better place as a result of modern technology.
Technology refers to the implementation of scientific ideas to the designing of tools to help in
working out specific life objectives (Strimel and Grubbs 24). Aeroplanes, televisions,
automobiles, radio, computers, cellular phones, fax machines, and modems are some of the
technological integrations which have brought upon more significant changes around the globe
(Cook 11). Indeed, the advancements in technology have immensely and beyond boundaries
transformed the way individuals worship, meet, play, interact, do business travel and perform
their daily activities. This explosion in technology has resulted from part of data explosion in
addition to advances in retrieval, storage and communication of information (Sharma and
Monteiro 72). Improvements in technology have consequently caused an increase in information
and knowledge thus uncovering diverse ways of altering the society. Over the last decades,
various technological advancements which have helped to make the nation a better place have
evolved as discussed below.
Computer Technology
Since the last quarter of the previous century, people have witnessed an explosion in
computer technology around the globe. This has greatly influenced how and where people

perform their activities either positively or negatively (Quarshie 718). The world has, for
example, witnessed the emergence of Telecommuters. These are employees of organisations or
business firms who work either part of fulltime from the comfort of their homes instead of
physically sitting in the organisation's offices (Fernandes Bernardino, De Déa Rogelio and Del
Corso 288). This people connect to their places of work through electronic networking like
computers, phones, fax or emails. Telecommuters can work with international supervisors. This
is a type of employment has helped various groups in our society manage their work which
would otherwise be hard to operate without the help of technology (Masayuki 2). Disabled
individuals and parents of infants have highly benefited from this technological advancement.
The Internet
This is the global biggest computer network (Keskenidou, Kyridis and Valsamidou 204).
This network has highly revolutionalised the electronic networking. Individuals who rely on the
internet for various functions have increased dramatically over the last few years. For example,
fifty per cent of Americans were online by the year 2000. The internet is an original development
of the United States Defense Department (Cohen-Almagor 46). It was developed to permit the
government in the aftermath of a nuclear attack. Initially, only individuals with government and
university positions could access technology. Nowadays, nearly everybody can access the
internet through various devices such as internet-enabled phones and computers.
The speedy growth of the internet has resulted in crucial and unmistakable changes in
everyone's life (Tarp and Fuertes-Olivera 273). The societal change created by the internet is
witnessed in a higher percentage of all the things that people do. These ranges from the way
people do their shopping to how romantic relationships are formed. The Internet has affected

how people interact, communicate or learn about global issues not forgetting how the brains of
people function. It has come to a point where the society is working hard to catch up with the
growing technological web. This has created a communal evolution which has affected how
people celebrate important life events. The internet has hugely changed how people celebrate
graduations, weddings as well as baby announcements. In this part, the changes that the internet
has brought to the society will be discussed.
To begin with, the manner through which people configure and justify relationships with
their clan, friends, and utopian partners has been influenced by the internet (Sassler and Miller
142). The idea of relationships has dramatically changed compared to the past now that we
people interact and update each other more easily than in the past. For instance, people
continually update about their life activities online with the help of social media. Photos, text
posts, videos and more others help people to present themselves to everybody around them. This
allows them to keep in contact from time to time with other individuals who they mind about as
well as those who they don't. Their acquaintances from past years get to know what they do,
where they go when they graduate from colleges, who they marry, who their children are and
even where they live.
This creates an intimacy that never existed as people tend to imagine that they understand
all that they need to comprehend about their acquaintances. This has in return resulted in a more
significant decline of the importance of individualized happenings like college; kinsfolk and
secondary school come together. If the person knows what the other person is up to, then what is
the essence of spending resources to associate with the person anyway?

Secondly, everyone feels that they have a say in every issue nowadays. Social media and other
platforms which are crowd based have increased in the 21st century. This spin has triumphed the
way people reason about individual life issues because the internet allows them to access a wide
variety of options and ideas (Krümm 2).
For instance, as the globe becomes more connected, more traditions and cultural ideas are
shared than ever. People have begun to pick more easily on how to celebrate various events than
before as culture gets to flow across oceans and borders with more ease. For example, in the
recent days, American couples integrate some Indian cultural practices in their weddings. Youths
from Europe have also started celebrating their graduation ceremonies using the American styles.
People choose to celebrate their events using techniques that were not heard of in the last decade.
This comes out of the crowd based platforms which enable data to be shared across diverse
regions of the world.
A quick summary through the social media gives an impression of how peculiar life
activities are raising due to the increasing crowd based platforms. It is easier to tell whether what
one is doing is being supported by their associates or not. This can be picked from how the
associates comment on the posts the later post on the various social media platforms such as
Twitter and Instagram. Most of the events such as baby showers have become corporate events
as social media gives everybody a chance to participate. In simple terms, activities like photo
shooting are no longer individual but collective activities. People comment on them as they like.
Convivial media has turned an essential part of how people spread information
(Hendricks Online). Most of the people feel that there is a warrant to post all the activities from
their meals to the graduation of their associates’ children on social media platforms all the time.

Nowadays people post issues they learn at lodges and even pose for social media photos at
funeral ceremonies. People have recently begun to discourage documentations of live events
such as fundraisings in social media platforms. Couples have increasingly banned mobile phone
snapshots during their marriage rituals due to problems such as guest stepping.
Biotechnology
Biotechnology is the application of technology in the medical field (Erickson Online).
Complicated ethical, political and moral questions have emerged from such practices such as sex
pre-selection and genetic engineering. It is not every couple who wants to conceive can do so.
Doctors can treat infertility issues through the use of various methods. For example, due to the
rise in technology, when a man has below average sperm count, doctors can use a syringe to
introduce sperms into the woman’s vagina. The test-tube method can also be used in this case. In
this case, an egg can be fertilised in a laboratory and later implanted in a woman's uterus. This
method is commonly used when in cases where the woman has a broken fallopian tube.
Biotechnology has enabled scientists to' change what the society can eat (Rotman
Online). The genes of corn have successfully been altered to produce more desirable traits. Most
of this corns are insect-protected make it easy for the farmers to create enough food for their use
since this corns do not require chemicals such as pesticides and herbicides to grow.
Biotechnology has also led to the production of other types of grains which are drought resistant
making it possible for the farmers to have a good harvest even when the rains fail to be reliable.
This has led to a substantial eradication of food insecurity in the community thus raising the
living standards of the community members.

Nowadays, it is effortless for one to travel to places that he or she has never been to
through the aid of Google Earth Maps. One needs to install an application in their Smartphone or
tablet. The individual will now use the app to locate places on the earth (McArthur Online).
Easy location of lost items
Theft and carelessness have been a greater menace in the society for quite an extended
period. Most people have been victims of misplacing mobile phones, wallets or even car keys.
However, it is now easier to locate such valuables once they get lost. Technological advancement
has given birth to an application known as TrackR. This application once installed in a cell
phone can help one to locate their car keys with much ease than before (McArthur Online).
Recommendations
Technology is our friend. If used well, it can be of great importance to our life. Through
daily routines, people get to realise that the future is closer than it seems to be. Several issues
need to be tackled to manage the advantages that have been brought upon by technology. First of
all, parents and children need to be educated on how to engage with the online world. They
should be told on how to navigate the various platforms together. This will help them to make
excellent everyday decisions about social media. Secondly, parents should be ready to navigate
the risks of technology with their children. This can help them realise what is affecting the
youths and advise them accordingly. Besides, there is a need to educate the people on how to use
various technological devices since most people are illiterate. This will further make the
community a better place once everybody employs a technology.

society. The perspective of our world has been revolutionalised by technology over the last few
years. Amazing tools and resources have been created making information available to
everybody at the convenience of their fingertips. Life has become more relaxed and enjoyable
with all this evolutions. Everybody in the universe has experienced how technology has changed
their life. For example, acquiring education has become more comfortable as students do not
have to present themselves physically in a classroom. Tutors can communicate to them via
Skype and other platforms. The manner in which people relate to each other has also changed
drastically. On the other hand, cyber crimes have risen due to technological advancements.
Deadly diseases without cure have also emerged bringing about poverty due to the reduction in
workforce. All this impacts are the results of technology.
