INTRODUCTION
People work for the purpose of earning money, so they can fulfil essential requirements such
as clothing, shelter and food for their families and their own. Once the basic needs are satisfied,
another requirements are raised that are related to making their life comfortable. There are
various motivational factors that plays important role to inspire an individual to work in well-
defined to gain desirable outcome efficiently (Song, Gu and Zhang, 2020). The report consists
various factors that impacts the performance and productivity of employees positively and
negatively. There are various strategies as well as planning are implemented by the organisation
to reduce the negative factors that affect employee performance are covered. Along with that,
different theories also discussed in this project report
TASK
Concept of motivation
The concept of motivation is defined as the physiological as well as mental powers of an
individual or group members that inspire them to perform defined task in specific manner in
order to attain objectives in best possible manner. In organisation intrinsic and extrinsic
motivation are used to lead organisational employees to achieve pre-defined goals and objectives
efficiently. Basically, motivation is the mental state of people that inspire them to perform in
specific manner (Anderson and Bidwell, 2019). Organisation identify the needs of their
employees and motivates them by providing monetary and non-monetary benefits accordingly to
enhance the productivity rate. Maslow’s hierarchical theory is used to assess the stated of people
needs and requirements. Two factors of motivation which are mentioned below:
Intrinsic motivation: The respective motivation is considered as the motivation that is related
to internal factors of an individual
Extrinsic motivation: The extrinsic motivation is related to external factors. In business
employees are getting inspired and motivates by the various extrinsic motivational factor.
Organisation provides various rewards that are monetary as well as non-monetary plays
important role in motivating people to work properly.
Maslow’s need of hierarchy

Hierarchical need theory of Maslow helps business to understand necessities of their employees
which are defined in hierarchical form. Once all fundamental needs are fulfilled than next
progressive need is raised that state from basic need to self-actualisation need (Baroutsis, 2019).
Business understands the level of their need and provide them motivation accordingly.
Basic requirements: In the first step of hierarchical need theory, fundamental need is being
recognised that are essential for an individual to live such as food, shelter, clothing and water.
Organisation provide appropriate compensation to employees according to their working performance
in order to fulfilling fundamental needs.
Safety need: After accomplishing the basic need, safety need of people is raised that is related
to safety in life. Organisations formulates various strategies and planning to provide safe environment
at work place to protect them and various insurance policies are offered that enhance the sense of
safety and wellbeing.
Love and belongingness need: This is the important need that is related to maintain effective
relationship that motivates them to complete work in best possible manner. In an organisation,
environment of friendship is maintained that help to motivating employees to work efficiently.
Esteem Need: The higher need is began with self-esteem need, which states that people
required respect at work place that motivates them to retain with organisation as well. Business
provides worth and respect to their employees that lead them towards accomplishing the esteem
need (Debes, 2018). The step has two parts such as esteem that is related to getting respect form
others and esteem which as related to self-assessment.
Self-actualization Need: Self-actualisation is defined as upper-level need in Maslow's need of
hierarchy. It is related to fulfilling the full potential and getting the goals that an individual want to
achieve in its life.
Factors that motivate people to work
There are various factors that works to motivate people to work in well-defined manner to
attain all organisational as well as personal objectives are defined below:
salary: Salary is the most effective factors because employees are working with an
organisation for the purpose of getting financial advantages. Appropriate compensation policies
inspire employees to work with organisation. Organisation provides various other benefits to
employees along with their basic salary such as bonus, increment and other benefits that
motivates employees to perform efficiently to attain objectives.

Workplace: Organisational working environment is the component that inspire employees to
working with organisation for long period of time. Now these days, businesses are focus on
maintaining effective and positive working space for employees in order to enhance their working
adequacy. Positive working environment enhance the sense of ease in working of employees and
increase their contribution to attaining organisational goals and objectives properly.
Promotions: Promotions and development opportunities are very important to motivate
employees for work in efficient manner. People work with full effectiveness and efficiency, if

(Foley, ed., 2020). Along with that, promotions motivate employees to retain with organisation
for longer period.
The positive components that enhance employee experience at job roles
Organisation implement various positive that facilitates employees to enhance their overall
working experience form specific job role. These factors are mentioned below:
Proper connection with other employees: Effective relation with other organisation
employees plays important role in maintaining sound working environment at work place that
enhance the positive working experience with organisation as well as increase employee
performance and productivity also. Effective connection with organisation facilitates employees
to perform properly and attain defined objectives as well.
Provide career development opportunities: If organisation provides various growth and
career development opportunities to employee that motivates them to enhance positive attitude
towards work and organisation. There are relative training is provided to employees to enhance
their skills and capabilities to perform defined work in most efficient manner (Maslach, 2018).
Growth as well as development opportunities help to enhance employee performance rate as
well.
Financial stability of organisation: Financial performance and stability of organisation
impacts on the overall experience as well as working performance of employees. If organisation has
stable financial positioning, then it provides various financial benefits to their employees
continuously on the basis of their performance level that enhance their positive attitude towards
organisation and encourage to work efficiently.

Negative factors of employee experience as a result of their job role
Along with positive factors, there are various negative factors that impacts on employee
performance as well as their experience form specific job role. These negative factors demotivate
employees and affect their working experience as well. Some factors are mentioned below:
Discrimination: It is the negative factor that impacts employee experience adversely. If in
organisation equal opportunities are not provides to their employees and discriminate them on
the bases of their nationality, age, colour and attitude affect the performance level of employees
and enhance the sense of left over. In the working environment of discrimination, employees do
not utilise their skills and capabilities properly as well as reduces productivity also.
Providing access work: If organisation assign more work to employee than their
capabilities that enhance the burden on employees and affect their overall functionality and
performance (Mattioli, Walters and Cannon, 2018). Organisation do not give value to innovative
ideas of employees and not include them in organisational decisions that enhance the sense of
demotivation among employees that limits their creativity as well.
Ineffective management: Management of organisation is related to allocating work roles
and responsibilities. If in organisation proper management is not maintained and employees are
confused about their roles that affect the performance level negatively and reduce their working
experience with organisation and respective job role even it become the cause of employee
turnover.
Strategies to cope with negative factors of employee experience
Business analyses the different positive as well as negative factors which impacts on
experience level of employees and their performance. In order to overcome all negative factors,
organisation develops various strategies that facilitates to enhance employee motivation level as
well as retain them with organisation for longer period of time (Ragins and Dutton, 2017).
Organisation identify employee problems and mitigate them through providing various effective
solutions. Some of strategies are mentioned below:
Organisation encourage employees to provide innovative ideas, concepts and implement
them in organisation decisions and activities. Employees are treated effectively and fairly
that enhance the sense in employees that they are important for organisation as well as
motivates them.

The strategy of allocating work among employees in appropriate manner and if in some
situation excess work is provided to employees then extra salary is provided that
facilitates them to perform task with more efficiency (Solymosi and Bowers, 2018).
Effective management is executed that help to manage people effectively.
Organisation provides career development opportunities to employees and offer effective
compensation as well as training for the purpose of enhancing their performance level to
attain all organisational goals and objectives.
Proper working environment as well as culture is executed which increase positive
experience and attitude of employees towards organisation.
CONCLUSION
As per above report, it can be concluded that people are getting motivates to accomplish
their all needs and demands properly. As motivation is the aspect which facilitates the
organisation through enhancing employee performance, positive experience and profitability. In
organisation, various positive as well as negative factors that impacts on employee performance.
For the purpose of overcoming the negative factor, various strategies are formulated by the
organisation.
