INTRODUCTION
People work for the purpose of earning money, so they can fulfil essential requirements such
as clothing, shelter and food for their families and their own. Once the basic needs are satisfied,
another requirements are raised that are related to making their life comfortable. There are
various motivational factors that plays important role to inspire an individual to work in well-
defined to gain desirable outcome efficiently (Song, Gu and Zhang, 2020). The report consists
various factors that impacts the performance and productivity of employees positively and
negatively. There are various strategies as well as planning are implemented by the organisation
to reduce the negative factors that affect employee performance are covered. Along with that,
different theories also discussed in this project report
TASK
Concept of motivation
The concept of motivation is defined as the physiological as well as mental powers of an
individual or group members that inspire them to perform defined task in specific manner in
order to attain objectives in best possible manner. In organisation intrinsic and extrinsic
motivation are used to lead organisational employees to achieve pre-defined goals and objectives
efficiently. Basically, motivation is the mental state of people that inspire them to perform in
specific manner (Anderson and Bidwell, 2019). Organisation identify the needs of their
employees and motivates them by providing monetary and non-monetary benefits accordingly to
enhance the productivity rate. Maslow’s hierarchical theory is used to assess the stated of people
needs and requirements. Two factors of motivation which are mentioned below:
Intrinsic motivation: The respective motivation is considered as the motivation that is related
to internal factors of an individual
Extrinsic motivation: The extrinsic motivation is related to external factors. In business
employees are getting inspired and motivates by the various extrinsic motivational factor.
Organisation provides various rewards that are monetary as well as non-monetary plays
important role in motivating people to work properly.
