INTRODUCTION
Ethical behaviors is an acting in a way consistent with the what individual and society
typically think are good value. It is tended to be a good with the business and this includes
demonstrating respect for the key moral principles which include dignity, honesty, individual
rights and fairness. This report will cover case study of the Sackler family which is extremely
wealthy American-British company, and they are owner of the Purdue pharmacy company and
their company is famous for the highly addictive painkiller which is causing Death and
addiction, but they were also donating fund to the museum all around the world. this report will
identify that Sackler family can be described as successful if it is not ethical this report will also
include how Sackler family can protect themselves against the unethical behavior. This report
will briefly explain show Sackler family's donation help Museums to achieve success. It will
cover reputation of the Museums after supporting Sackler family and it will also analyze how
this situation effect the visitors' behavior against Museums.

How Sackler Family donation have enable the success of the Museum
Sackler family is one of the famous Farms company in the while United kingdom, and
they are selling painkiller name with Oxycontin which is highly addictive and young generation
in the United Kingdom is using this painkiller as drug and this habit is becoming reason for death
(Cvelbar, Grün and Dolnicar., 2017). This is illegal drug but without any proscription they were
selling this drug to earn more profit. This drug was available on the market without any
proscription from the doctors (Du, Zhang and Hua., 2015). Government of the United Kingdom
try to stop selling this painkiller because this was to much addictive, and they were selling
without following governmental rules but in the other side Sackler family was donating huge
amount of money to the Museum for their universities and galleries in the all over the world,
most of the fund of Museums was rising because of the Sackler family and this make huge
reputation for the Sackler family among the Museums and Art galleries and this fund Museums
was using to envelope their Museums and Sackler family was key source of the funding.
Development in the Museum attract many visitors toward the Museums and Art galleries.
Reputation of the Museums and Art galleries after being associated with Sackler family
After the argument the article donation given by the Purdue Pharmacy company was
declined by Museums and Art galleries because in the one side they were selling drugs in the

market and that was affecting health of many people and on the other side they were making
their reputation in the market by donating money to the Museums and Art galleries. After this
incident many famous museum and ineptitude decline their charity, and they go against the
Sackler family but for some Museums and Art galleries e was still accepting donation from them
because they were getting huge donation from Sackler family, this effect the reputation of those
Museums who are still excepting donation from them and this can also effect their business and
Museum can lose their popularity among the visitors this was unethical behavior from the
Museums and Art galleries, who were still accepting their charity amount, if they deny accepting
money from them then it can increase reputation among the visitors. But according to my
opinion they can be successful in their business, but they cannot earn respect from the other
because those drugs is making people addiction and this is the resin for the death of many
people in United kingdom (Du, Zhang and Hua., 2015). It is unethical behavior by the Sackler
family because they are ding illegal work and other side they are showing that they are ding good
work for the society. They can also be successful if they give this medicine to the needy people,
and they should not give medicine without any prescription. They can make profit if they will
sell their painkiller to people who actually need to use, and they really need of this painkiller
(Mirosa and et.al., 2016). This will create profit fir them, and they can also make reputation
among the people in the United kingdom.
How the reputation has affect the visitors Behaviour
They were donating money to the museum and because of that they make respect
among the people and many institutions but after the article they will lost their respect among
them and Museum who are still with Sackler family, It will also effect the profitability and
popularity of this museum because they are supporting Sackler family after this incident, and
they are known that Purdue pharmacy company is selling illegal drugs which is responsible for
death of the many people in the United Kingdom. Museums and Art galleries who were
accepting donation can suffer from the huge lose and unethical behavior will decrease the
number of the visitor in the Museums as compare to the previous visors of the Museums.
Sackler family was having respect among the people because they were thinking that they are
one of the famous pharmacy company in the United kingdom but after this incident they will lose
respect and to get their respect in the market again they should apologize their respect, and they

should sell this drug with the governmental approval. And Museums and Art galleries should
stop taking donation from them because it is affecting on their organization.
ANALYSIS
After the study of this case study of Sackler family I have been analyzed that One of the
effective way to be successful in the business for any Organization to behave Ethical and
according to this case study Sackler family was not behaving Ethical. When museums and art
galleries come to know about reality of the Sackler Family then they decide that they will not
take donations from the Sackler family but on the other side there were some museums, art
galleries who were supporting Sackler family because most of the fund they were getting from
them.
According to the case study It has been analyzed that This was unethical behavior from
those museums and art galleries because they were supporting people who were selling
addictive drug to the People in the UK. This was making them addictive this cause them to the
death. In this situation they should not support them because it can affect their reputation as well,
and they can lose respect among the people. It is seems like they were supporting Sackler family
because they were getting huge amount of donation from them. This can effect the probability of
the museums and art galleries who were supporting them in the situation where they are
completely wrong.
It has been analyzed that To be successful in the business you cannot sell addictive
things in the market , there are many other company who are selling drugs with the license, and
they do not sell those drugs without any doctor proscription and it is also important for the
retailer company to have necessary license to sell addictive drugs to the people (Xie, So and
Wang., 2017). If Sackler family use this legal way then they can earn profit and gain respect
among the people. It also has been analyzed that accepting Donation by the Museums and Art
galleries and still associated with them can affect on the visitors behaviors, visitors will behave
unethically and it will also decese numbers of the vistors in Museums.

There are some practices which can protect Sackler family from the unethical behavior. It
is important for them to build ethical practices and ethical culture, which can help them to
overcome from Unethical problem which is faced by Sackler family (Xie, So and Wang., 2017).

It is impotent for Sackler family to change their polices and develop new strategies to
overcome from the Unethical problems, First of all they should take legal license from the
government and without permission and prescription of the doctor they should not give
medicines to the people nercuse this drug is very addictive and overdose of this medicine can
harm health those practices should be articulated in the workers handbook and their protections
should be put be placed where it is rising those issue (Cvelbar, Grün and Dolnicar., 2017). This
can take time for the Sackler family to create respect among people but this will work
effectively to resolve unethical problems. it is also impotent for them to sell Oxycontin top the
needy people and without permission they should not tell to anyone, and they should provide
those retailer who have license to sell this drug.
Hire right
One of the best way to overcome from the Unethical behavior to hire a Quality employee
in the company who can provide them a solution from the different problem occurring in the
company, strategies are important for them, and they can get ideas and new strategies if they will
hire people who have knowledge and who are working in Pharmacy industry from many years,
Sackler family can offer them a job in their company, and they will make strategies to overcome
from this situation (Du, Zhang and Hua., 2015.). It is impotent for company to see that people to
whom they are hiring should have knowledge about this situation. Superiors of the company also
responsible to make new strategies to overcome from the unethical issues.
Put control in place
They should be strict with the rules and provide medicine to the retailer who are having
drug pharmacy license because there are many propel in the United Kingdom who own
pharmacy retailer shop without any license is it is important for company to take bill of all the
medicine, and they should have proper record of the retailer and distribute. If any retailer is
selling Oxycontin without proscription or without permission they should take strict action on
them (Zervas., Proserpio and Byers., 2017). Purdue pharmacy should have control on their
destitution system because in this situation it is impotent for them to get their position bake in the
UK market and people can use Oxycontin for the treat otherwise some people can use this
medicine as drug.
Create ethical environment in workplace

In this situation employees of the Purdue pharmacy can be demotivated working in the
company so it is necessary for the company y to create ethical environment in the workplace of
the company (Xie, So and Wang., 2017). This can be done by the superiors of the company so
leaders and mangers should come and communicate with employees face to face, this will
motivate their employees, and they should promise them to work legally. It will motivate
employees to understand situation of the company, and they will stand with company in the
difficult situations. Employees of the company are responsible to run organization. Managers can
also help them financially because they can face problem related to the money, and they are
totally depended on the company to help them out. If superiors will help them then they will
more effectively, and they will give their best toward the task and help organization to achieve
objective and business goals.
Build communication
It is impotent for company to communicate with the propel and apologize their mistake
they were doing before and give them a commitment to do their work legally and helps propel
who are addicted to the drug (Wright, Hassan and Park., 2016). Communication is the only way
which can allow people to understand others they should communicate with employees as well to
overcome from the unethical situation. They should work legally and develop their medicine
which can give benefit to the people otherwise they should stop selling Oxycontin public-ally
because of illegal work. Purdue pharmacy is facing unethical behavior from a people and
Museum to whom they were giving charity. Cultural management work is difficult. To ensure
true success when it comes to organization ethics, people must see and hear what is going on as
well as feel comfortable to stand up and speak out if they see something occur that is not right. is
it is important for company to take bill of all the medicine, and they should have proper record of

RECOMMENDATION
It is impotent for the Sackler family to develop understanding by doing work legally.
Before they were doing illegal work and this effect their reputation in the market, so they should
realize their mistake and apologize with propel and institutes. Since the galleries and museums
has stop taking donation from the sackler family It could be recommended that like these arts and
galleries, all other arts and galleries may to start distancing themselves from such unethical
organization, thus, they must stop accepting the donations from Sackler Family, if important for
them They should start from new because it can take time to build reputation in the market.
galleries and museums who were supporting them also facing unethical behaviors from
their visitors, to protect themselves from this issue they should stop taking money from them
because they are doing wrong by supporting Sackler family. If they will stop supporting them
then it will increase reputation among the visitors, and their visitors will behave ethgically with
the galleries and museums.
If they will do their work legally then community will start taking interest in them, they
can do social work and provide treatment to the people who are suffering from the drug
addiction. If they will work for the culture and people then it will increase trust among the
people, and they can again take their position in the market but this time. If they will work
legally then government can support them with their rights.
Before this incident Sacler family was getting huge respect and reputation from the
museums, art galleries for their donations and gifts and people from the US also respect them for
their donations and helping nature but since they come to know that Sacler family is
manufacturing Drugs which is harming their health and making them addictive to those drugs,
people of UK stop purchasing those medicines and this incident creates negative image among
the people and museums and art galleries also stop taking donations and gift from them because
they were behaving unethically.
