Mystery of the creepy house (1000 words)
My name is Cynthia, I have had some of the most thrilling and horrific experiences in my
student life. It was 2013, I was 17 years old. My life was going very smoothly, as I was good in
studies and also participating in my school's women basket ball team. I had two best friends
named Amanda and John. Everything was going very smoothly in our lives. In the month of
September, we decided to move in a new house. It was in the outskirts of the city was located in
a very widely spread society. The house we moved into had a beautiful garden, it was very well-
built. I was very excited to move in this house. As soon as we settled in I invited my friends over
the very next day for a small party. It was just a small pizza party. My mum and dad went out for
dinner for celebrating their anniversary (Hasanah, 2019). While we were enjoying our pizza.
Suddenly the lights went out, and panic started flowing through our veins. It was night
without any moon and the lights didn't seem to return any soon. John asked me “ Hey Cynthia
what sup with the lights” I told him, “May be, the fuse behind the house is not right”. In between
of two ladies John wanted to prove himself a bit brave, He said to us, “ Don't you worry, I'll get
the light back as soon as possible”. It was a dark scary night full of silence, John went in the
back yard of the house with a little confidence.
After a long wait of like 30 minutes we were asking each other why isn't John back yet.
Amanda said lets go and check him. We had a single torch because the other one was with John.
As we reached the John had already gone. Then what we saw was a little disturbing to the eyes.
The house behind us where no one lived had lights coming out of it. Even I was shocked and
was staring at that house. Amanda asked me “where do you think John is”, I said “ I have no
clue, Lets get back in the house, its too dark out here.” So without John we went back to our
house. It was surprising for us to see that the lights were back. John was sitting on the couch
having pizza. We were relieved but as we found John, but the question was how was he back
before us. He was behaving little weird, definitely something was wrong. Just then the door bell
rang, I was a little confused and worried as who could it be.
The gates opened I saw my father, He said their plans got changed, so they returned. Few
moments late Amanda said we will be leaving, John didn't say a word and towards the door he
started moving. I knew something was wrong with him, but I was not so sure before he had
opened the door. At the last moment he looked at me with a weird and creepy smile, at that point
