Introduction
Social media marketing and digital marketing are the tools that have completed transformed the
way business organisations’ now perceive their promotional activities. With the changing times
this strategy has become one of the most preferred tools of promoting businesses. Present
research report is based on making analysis of the way social media marketing can be used as a
marketing channel by the retail sector organisations (Jacobson, Gruzd and Hernández-
García2020). For this purpose there is also analysis of the way different marketing channels that
are used by marks and Spencer in the present scenario for the purpose of improving their present
business sales.

Social media marketing is a concept that has gained lot of popularity and importance since last
few years. There has been a complete transformation in the process of using various promotional
and marketing techniques that are to be sold by various organizations for the purpose of
promoting their products and services for the target segment of customers (Chen and Lin, 2019).
Businesses are using the various techniques of social media marketing for the purpose of creation
of awareness, promotion of sakes, products sharing of useful content and further driving of
website traffic.
