Task 1
Network Simulation
The project of Southern Cross University is associated with the configuration and managing a
network for running the programs of Huawei Network Academy. Initially, it has an enterprise
network with headquarter that is connected with internet along with its two branches. The logical
topology is shown in the below figure:
This project will require the following hardware requirements:
 Network communication systems
 Desktop PCs
 Laptops
 Tablets
 Internet services and ISDN lines
 Printers
 Copiers
 Workstations & other peripherals

 Software packages (Microsoft Windows and other application software that are needed
by Southern Cross University)
 LAN cables (Twisted pair cables and Optical Fibre Cables)
 RJ 45 connectors
 Server Equipments
 Power Backups
 ACS or Access Control Systems
The Hardware configurations that will be needed in the network of Southern Cross University
are discussed below:
 Processor of the PCs will have to be minimum 1.5 GHz
 Ethernet connection
 Wireless Routers (100 mbps)
 Hard drive : Minimum 64 GB
 RAM: Minimum 4 GB
 Network Server : Windows server 2016
