NETWORK DESIGN AND DOCUMENTATION OF AGRIDIGITAL
Introduction
The report is about identifying the requirements of transforming AgriDigital’s
network infrastructure and provide logical and physical network diagrams according to those
requirements. The report begins discussing with the design and continues to the physical
layout of the network structure for showing the beneficial network services are obtained
(Costa et al., 2017). Then the report enters the testing and project management part where the
report proceeds further to provide the where the test plan, quality management plan, WBS,
budget and change control plan is given along with change request form, change log and
minutes of meeting. The report then provides observations in conclusions section.
Discussion
Requirements and Specifications
The network of the company is supposed to comprise of VPNs (Hoque et al., 2015).
VLANs need to be set up among the network for different rules and policies for different
types of devices (Nguyen & Kim, 2016). The networking topologies that are to be used by the
company network are the Local Area Network (LAN) topology and Wide Area Network or
WAN topology by the head office and branch office respectively de (Carvalho Silva et al.,
2017).

NETWORK DESIGN AND DOCUMENTATION OF AGRIDIGITAL
Logical Design
Figure 1: Logical Network Diagram
The logical network of the company includes the various servers of multiple networks
of the Internet (Curran, Fenton & Freedman, 2016). The router of the ISP is connected to this
interconnection of networks and thus the access to internet becomes available to the ISPs or
Internet Service Providers (Quach, Thaichon & Jebarajakirthy, 2016). These ISPs route the
internet access to routers of their customers like the company AgriDigital, the router of which
routes the network access to the core switch of head office as well as the router at the branch
office. This core switch then distributes the network to the lower layer switches of the head
office. The lower layer switches of the head office are tasked with providing network access
the individual device present in the network of the head office. These devices are the servers,
workstations, peripheral services and laptops. Connections to groups of similar devices are
ensured through the creation of VLANs. Connection to laptops are ensured by configuring
DHCP protocol settings in the WLAN connectors (Younes, 2016). The router of the branch
office is connected with that of the head office over a LAN of LAN network or in other
words a WAN network topology.

Physical Design
Figure 2: Physical Network Diagram
From the physical network diagrams, it can be seen that the network of the two
branches of the company, head office and branch office are connected together through a
WAN network topology. The network equipment at the head office are located in three
different rooms (Samdanis, Costa-Perez & Sciancalepore, 2016). These are the network
room, the server room and the workplaces. The branch office consists of workstations and
servers to serve the respective services required from them.
