Introduction
In the 21st century, ensuring the better quality of
environment has become necessary for conserving the
human and wild lives (Ragheb, El-Shimy and Ragheb
2016). The purpose of this presentation to analyzing
different environment and sustainability elements. In
this study a particular study, Air has been selected as
the sustainability element and critically developed the
study in the context of Nox pollution prevention and
control in UK.

The concept of sustainability
The concept of sustainability is about broadcasting the
sense of capacity that contributes in maintaining the
situations over time (Zore, Čuček and Kravanja 2018). It can
be explored by using the various references of space and
time in different social, economic and environmental
contexts. On the other hand, Linou et al. (2018) stated that
the concept of environmental sustainability helps the
people to enhance the ability of future for protecting the
generation.

Road transport can be considered as the largest source of Nox pollution
that contributes almost 49% of the total pollution. . In the words of GAO
and CHEN (2018), increasing amount of Nox pollution has brought
various health issues. In the recent report published in BBC has
mentioned about the deteriorating condition of air quality in UK due to
the increasing amount of NOX emission .

Consequences of air pollution In UK
 High level of Nox pollution has brought
negative result in the vegetation.
 The major disease such as asthma, stroke,
heart disease, lung disease and others
have got increased due to the high amount
of ammonia and nitrogen dioxide.
 Almost 44 cities have been failed to
maintain the air quality standard (Uk-
air.defra.gov.uk 2020).
 The disturbance in Ozone layer
contaminated the air purity.

Significance of the topic in current
context
 The air quality index system has shown the major
fall in different cities in UK, which is driving
towards the negative heath impact.
 It can highlight various factors based on the
emerging preservation initiatives adopted in UK
(Smith 2018).
 From the year 1970, the emission of NOX has
started contaminating the air, which has become
the major threat for lives.

Example of Nox pollution from
different car companies
 As per the report published by expert
committee, it has been identified that from
the Volkswagen cars almost 48.678 tones of
Nox has been emitted in the year 2016.
 Fiat and Suzuki are also in the top list for
Niox pollution.

Government initiative towards prevention
 Banning the sale of the cars run by fossil fuel
from 2040 (Uk-air.defra.gov.uk 2020).
 Urgent guidelines towards air quality
improvement
 The quality network has been published by UK
government for providing the guidelines of
standard air quality (Bbc.com 2020).

Conclusion
In this study, it can be concluded that critically analyzing the Nox
pollution scenario in UK, the study has mentioned about various
prevention technique that have been adopted by the government
for betterment. However, not only the government initiatives, but
also people need to show their interest towards dealing with the
situation for maintaining the quality standard and ensuring better
future.
