INTRODUCTION
Research method can be defined as the tools or the techniques which are used by the
researcher for performing the research. This can be either the qualitative as well as the
quantitative method for the research study. This will discuss the possible or the expected
outcomes of the research proposal as well as the significance of the research study.
MAIN BODY
This research study has discussed the challenges which were faced by nurses at the time
of COVID 19 in surgical ward. Performing this research has helped in stating the importance of
the mental health of the nurses. The expected outcomes of this research study is that it will help
in creating the awareness of the mental health of the nurses when they were present inside the
surgical ward during the period of COVID 19. The research study is based on the challenges of
the nurses during the COVID 19 pandemic so performing the research on this topic will enable to
evaluate challenges as well as this will make the nursing management to take the measures so
that the mental health of the nurses is not affected (Hossain and Clatty, 2021). When the COVID
19 patients were admitted to the hospital the nurses plays the vital role in taking care of these
patients and everyday seeing these patients has affected them much. They were much prone to
cause this disease as coming in contact with the coronavirus patients may lead to transfer the
virus to the nurses.
It is very important to ensure about the safety and the protection of the nurses as by
evaluating the challenges will enable everyone knew that how the nurses were affected by
staying with the COVID 19 patients in the surgical ward. This research study will help the nurses
as they will be given the protective clothes and other measures for better managing these types of
the situation if happens in the future. The hospitals after knowing the mental state of the nurses
will have in better management so that this issue can be avoided as it is not good that while
taking care of the patients they may also affect themselves.
This was the diseases which was affecting because of the coming in contact with the
patient and the nurses were the most who while taking care of them have to stay near them there
were very high chances for them to infect from this disease (Shu-Ching, Yeur-Hur and Shiow-
Luan, 2020). The another big challenge for the nurses were to see the patients not getting beds,
crying as there was much terror created of the COVID 19 among the people. This research study

was done for main purpose of achieving the outcomes such as prevention of the nurses from the
COVID 19 as by giving them proper precaution so that in taking care of the patients they do not
harm themselves as the nurses mental health was getting affected. It is very tough for them to see
the patients in such critical conditions. The potential outcomes of this research study is to
provide them the safety and protection from the disease in the future. Increasing COVID 19
pandemic has created much stress for the nurses as they were facing the psychological as well as
the emotional challenges. The nurses were immensely facing the psychological pressure
which is ranging from the unsupportive family norms till the unwelcoming working environment
as well as the insensitive administrations of the hospitals (Horsch, Lalor and Downe, 2020). The
expected outcomes for this is the legislators were advised by this to take the appropriate as well
as corrective measures in order to eliminate the ongoing challenges of the COVID 19 to the
nurses. This research study has been performed so that the effective support system for the
nurses can be taken. Researching on this topic will provide the safety and the protection to the
nurses and if this situation again happens in the future then this will be handled effectively by the
management of the hospitals.
The main purpose of doing this research study is to let the management and the people that how
the nurses are affected in the surgical ward. The expected outcomes for the research study is to
achieve the positive results to save the nurses for suffering from the mental health.
Significance of this research study:
The research study is conducted for the relevant and for particular topic. Researching on
the evaluation of the challenges faced by the nurses during the COVID 19 pandemic will help the
nurses much as by knowing the challenges, the management of the hospital will be able to take
the corrective measures for taking care of them. The COVID 19 pandemic has affected the
mental health of the nurses by seeing and treating the patients who are suffering from much
severe conditions. This research study has much significance because outcomes of this research
study will provide much protection to the nurses (Lira and et.al., 2020). This research was much-
needed because this was very high need of awarding the people as well as the hospital
management that how the nurses mental health is affecting by treating the patients in the surgical
wards.

The topics much important for the research and researching done on this topic will
provide the nurses to protect themselves from the harming there mental health by seeing and
taking care of such severe conditions patients. The research which has been done for this topic
has much significance and by this, the nurses will be highly benefit and will be able to safe
themselves from causing the coronavirus diseases by the patients. There are very fewer authors
or the articles who have considered this topic as relevant but this topic has much relevancy for
performing the research study on this. The contributions and the efforts made for this research
study will help the management of the hospitals in taking the appropriate measures for the nurses
so that they will get the good working conditions and will not be affected from the diseases.
Covid-19 have drastically affects the lives of the people all across the world. It highly
impacts the overall health care system along with the health care providers as well which
includes the nurses who are the front line workers in order to provide safeguard the life of
everyone affected by the pandemic situation. The above mentioned study is based upon the
identification of various challenges that has been faced by the nurses especially while giving
services into the surgical ward of the Covid-19 (Specht and et.al., 2021). One of the most
prominent significance of doing this research is that after considering various cases, even the
nurses also starts feeling depressed as they are also facing high danger among the situation
within which they are offering their services to the Covid patients. Thus, they are also feeling
low mood and high level of stress at their working premises. This kind of atmosphere enhances
the chances of raising conflicts. Surgical ward is a place which requires team collaboration but
with the stressful situation, the conflicts arises in very easy manner. Thus, this study enables the
staff members as well as the nurses to deal with such pessimistic situations into most effectual
manner.
They also have the fear of infection and psychological changes within themselves. This
study assist them to deal with such kind of modifications in most successful manner. Such kind
of researches helps the nursing staff to prepare themselves in advanced manner related to the
issues that they might go to face. And even if they are facing such issues, they have the
opportunity do deal with them by considering the solutions that are being provided to them in
pre-defined research studies. Moreover, they can choose the solutions as per their requirement
and convenience. In addition to that, this study also help the nursing staff to become prepared in
advanced manner for such kind of drastic calamities if such arises in future situation as well.

With this, they are highly able to prepare themselves for such conditions. This also assist in
providing the latest situational information in front of the nurses along with the current
requirements that makes them aware about the future conditions. This also minimizes the risks
that are associated within the nurses in context of challenges that has been faced by them
especially in the surgical ward in Covid-19 situation. The study elaborate the concept that it is
the high time to get focus towards such issues and also provide a guidance in order to mitigate
them among the environment (Sagherian, McNeely and Steege, 2021). Apart from this, the major
advantage of doing this research is that the nurses are able to handle their situations and issues
and able to provide the best patient care with the latest information and knowledge in order to
control their self challenges as well. This automatically improves the quality of life of patients as
well as nurses both.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it has been concluded that with the help of doing research over
specific issues, the scholars are able to resolve drastic challenges that has been faced by the
community or group of people among the society. Moreover, it will help them find appropriate
solution within stipulated time duration.
