Introduction
One of the responsibilities and obligations of an individual who is a nurse by profession is to
take care of the patients in the hospital. A nurse is, therefore, a person who possesses perfect
knowledge in the domain of medical education. Nursing, however, is considered as an
autonomous profession of science. It is also a sector of interrelated health care procedures which
is made up of streams of activities such as safeguarding from illnesses, advocating health
concerns and supporting patients psychologically. Nursing is a process through which nurses
diagnose and treat patients through their knowledge and skills (Martin & McFerran, 2017).
Strengths
Myself being a nurse, I have some personal and professional strengths and weaknesses which
are laid on the foundation of the four points of content mentioned in the above statements. When
considering my strengths I admit that I passionately enjoy and love my profession this is because
I am always willing to learn something new such as different ways of doing things and making
future plans of how I could perform better in my profession. Discipline also is a key requirement
that I feel I possess as a strength in nursing. And I have set my own limits and measures that can
help me take my profession on a different level. This is portrayed by being polite, kind and
hospitable to the clients and the colleagues at work. Being reliable is also a strength because
people's lives lie on my hands I, therefore, have to be punctual, available and accurate.
Weaknesses
Just as strengths I also possess weaknesses that limit my ability to achieve my leadership goal of
learning more new things to grow my profession where the first one is that lack of sufficient time
to do extra studies and to conduct researches through reviewing new studies being done and
latest trends. Secondly, I need improvements or rather perfection in communication skills
because being a nurse requires one to be effective in communication so that it is easy to
