The main similarity between the iSAP case analysis and the analysis done by the
expert is, it highlights the importance of social isolation and depression and one of the
principal issue of in case of devising care plan for Paul. However, in case of expert’s
analysis, social isolation is linked with loss of independence and vision and in the iSAP
analysis assignment; social isolation is linked with poor satisfaction in the healthcare service.
The case study highlights that Paul is suffering from vision loss after his cataract service and
his identity was denied previously by the healthcare professionals. Both the cases are equally
responsible for the development of depression and social isolation and hence justified. The
main interventions proposed for the social isolation and depression in both the analysis are
also similar and this includes social support coming from the community members and
aboriginal healthcare professional. However, the main assignment highlights patient’s
education in the domain of hallucination but the transcript does not provide any clear insight
that Paul is suffering from severe depression which is giving rise to hallucination. The
assignment of iSAP case analysis highlights cataract surgery as an important issue in Paul’s
healthcare however; it does not propers assistance to the daily living activity due to loss of
vision as highlighted in the expert’s analysis. Loss of vision is an important aspect which
affects the mental health and well-being so proper assistance in the daily living activity can
be considered as an important aspect of patient’s care plan. Factors like diabetes self-
management, difficulty in taking medication and ill-treatment by the healthcare professional
in the past instances is not states as the main concern for Paul and this is in sharp contrast for
the expert’s analysis. The evaluation strategies are also clear and succinct in expert’s
analysis. It has used ingoing regular review of diabetes and mental health and importance of
the aboriginal community participation and the outcome as the main evolution strategies.
However, the evaluation strategies are not clear in the iSAP assignment as it is based on
Paul’s interest and knowledge. So going forward in the future practice, it will be the duty of

the healthcare professional to device the care plan based on the patients principal physical
and mental requirement. Here Paul’s initial requirement as evident from the transcript and
from the expert’s analysis is assistance in the domain of vision loss, proper diabetes
healthcare management and immediate actions in HCV (hepatitis c virus) treatment. The new
knowledge identified from the review case study of Paul includes importance of the presence
of the aboriginal healthcare worker. The presence of the aboriginal healthcare worker helps to
improve the mental health status of the aboriginal service users. This help to reduce the
communication gap while increase the provision for patient education.
