Diabetes is the major health problem in indigenous communities of Victoria. It can be
caused due to elements like obesity, over- weight or physical inactivity. Research shows that
most of the people in region follow unhealthy diet which can also be a major cause for disease.
Other factors due to whom this disorder can happen are weak immune system, genetic problem,
consumption of alcohol and drugs or environmental components like viruses in air which might
make the disease worse (Yazdanpanah, Nasiri and Adarvishi, 2015). Patients in Victoria
suffering from this may be seen with symptoms like fatigue, restlessness, exhausted, wounds that
can't heal, blurred vision, night blindness, etc.
Multidisciplinary team which includes nurses, carers, health-care professionals, doctors,
physicians, etc. have the most important role while treating service users. It has been noted that
most of the people in Victoria are suffering from both; type 1 and 2 form of diabetes. Care givers
have the responsibility to early analyse and prevent disease. For this, they need to make patient
understand about the risk factors related to diabetes, encouraging them to lose weight and
involving them in physical exercise like yoga, dance, aerobics, etc.
For improving health condition of people residing in Victoria, nurses can also play an
active role in promoting self-care. This can be done by imparting them knowledge and education
about that how anxiety or depression can severely affect patients suffering from diabetes. Carers
can also encourage them to have healthy diet and limit consumption of alcohol and drugs as this
can lay impact on their liver too (Munshi and et.al., 2016). Carers can support them emotionally
so that people can freely share their views and thoughts about the treatment or medications
provided to them. It can also help nurses in improving their quality of service.
Study has also shown that major cause for diabetes in people of Vietnam are emotional
stress, depression or pressure at the workplace. For improving health conditions of patients,
nurses can also encourage them to participate in activities which can make them happy and
healthy (Roles and responsibilities of nurses, 2017). They can also motivate users to use
personalised care plans. Keen analysis and monitoring should be done by health-care
professionals regarding the urine flow of patients. If any deficiency is been seen, nurses are
responsible to perform the test supervised. Medicines should be provided to them according to
the result of urinary test (Sherwood and Zomorodi, 2014).

Health-care professionals should also plan a nutritional diet for service users in order to
improve their conditions. Many therapies like oral and injectable can also be provided to patients
in indigenous community. They should also make them understand the benefits and advantages
of these medical care (Smolowitz and et.al., 2015). Nurses should allow patient to make their
own decision and provide fair treatment to them. Also, they can make use of evidence based
practice to improve service user's outcomes. Health-care professionals should provide them
support in judgement which will improve the relationship in between them and also positively
impact their physical-mental conditions.
