OBESITY 1
Introduction
Obesity is defined as a medical illness where excess fat has accrued to
the extent that it has a negative effect on the human body of the consumer.
It is a complex disorder that includes an extreme amount of fat in the
human body. Obesity is also defined as a medical problem that enhances
other health disorders, for example, diabetes, certain cancers,
cardiovascular disorder and many more. The major significance of this
paper is to analyze the impact of obesity on the human body and review the
recent papers published on the obesity health problem. There are major 5
journal articles that will be reviewed in terms of significance, methodologies
imposed major contribution and quality.
Critical review
A. Prevalence of Obesity and Severe Obesity in US Children, 1999–
2016
This journal paper was written by Asheley and other researchers in the
year 2018 and highlighted the prevalence of the obesity health problem
(Skinner, Ravanbakht, Skelton, Perrin, M., & Armstrong, 2018).
Significance
This paper is about the prevalence of obesity in which the writer
highlighted risk factors related to the obesity disorder and reviewed the
impact of obesity on children and adolescents. The significance of this paper
is to deliver efficient occurrence information on obesity trends between
United States children.
Methodology
This paper utilized the NHANES for 1999 to 2016 years and adopted a
qualitative methodology for obtaining reliable points in the case of obesity.
The researchers reported the occurrence approximations of obesity and

overweight by 2-year NHANES cycles and performed a comparison process
using Wald tests.
Contribution to the topic
This paper plays a significant contribution to the research topic as it
provided depth information in the context of obesity health disorder. The
investigation provided a way to understand the effect of obesity on families
in the United States. This paper helped to address the risk factors related to
the obesity health problem.
Quality
In terms of quality, this paper is more reliable and effective that helped
to understand the key aspects of the obesity health problem and addressed
the research gaps produced in recent papers. The researchers adopted
appropriate methods while gathering and analyzing the data and also
included opinions of other researchers that enhanced research quality.
B. Increased oxidative stress in obesity and its impact on
metabolic syndrome
This journal paper was published by the Shigetada and other papers in
the year 2017 and provided viewpoints about obesity and its impact on
metabolic condition (Furukawa, et al., 2017).
Significance
The key significance of this investigation is to review the key
characteristics and risk factors related to obesity health problems. The
researchers provided a way to identify the impacts of obesity disorder on
metabolic syndrome and evaluated the oxidative pressure and plasma
adiponectin stages in obese patients.
Methodology
In which the researchers included both qualitative and quantitative
designs for obtaining reliable data and numerical facts in the case of obesity
