INTRODUCTION
Research is defined as a systematic inquiry to explain, described, predict as well as control
the observe phenomenon. Along with this, it is a careful consideration of study regarding a
specific problem or concern using scientific methods (Bakker, 2018). It is usually a criteria to
collect as well as analyzing data in a systematic manner in order to achieve research objectives
within stipulated time period. report will cover the nature of research along with its examples. In
addition to this, there's a discussion about the principles for conducting good research.
Explain the nature of research
It is stated that the nature of research it is a natural day-to-day activity with the purpose of
collecting data. The nature of research is discussed below:
Descriptive: It is defined as an attempt to explore and explain while providing additional
data about topic. In addition to this, herein research is trying to explain what is happening in
detail and focus on expanding understanding. These nature of research emphasize on answering
what, when, how and where question if a research problem. There are different forms of
descriptive research that is survey, case study, observation and so on.
Example: While studying human behaviour based on event or factor, investigator observes
behavior, reaction and characteristics. By observing this, researcher is able to determine
behaviour in a proper manner.
Exploratory: It is defined as initial research into theoretical and hypothetical idea. Along
with this, it is an attempt to lead the groundwork which will lead to future studies and analyse
current existing theory. It is determined that exploratory research is the process of investigating
and analyzing a problem which has not been studied and investigated in the past. It is classified
into two main methods that is primary and secondary research methods.
Example: Podcast survey template which is used to gather feedback about postcard
consumption metrics both from podcast listeners and existing listeners which are currently not
subscribe to this channel (Congalton and Green, 2019). It is a new research topic that is not
investigated in the past.
