1. Entry 7: Emotional Intelligence and Beyond IQ
Part A
Question 1:
Intelligence quotient is the ability of the individual to provide logical reasoning. Emotional
Quotient is the emotional intelligence which is gained through standardized test, observation,
and perception. The similarity between the two is both intelligence helps in exploring the
knowledge, skills, and expertise of the individual. The difference between them is that IQ is
the inborn ability of the individual whereas EQ is gained through life circumstances,
observation, perception, and etc (Sagar, 2011). I have stronger EQ which I have gained
through my life experiences to analyse the situation proactively. The strength of IQ helps in
providing success in the school curriculum whereas the strength of EQ helps in providing
success in the span of life
Question 3:
The theories of emotional intelligence are self-awareness, self-regulation, social skills for
managing the emotion of the people, empathy for understanding the feelings of the people in
taking managerial decision, and motivation (Stern, 2017). The emotional intelligence helps in
exploring the areas of knowledge in relation to the self-awareness, self-management program,
social awareness, and lastly the relationship management program. The changes occurred in
the environment can be proactively measured which helps in taking decision. I have learned
that EQ helps in analysing the situation and results in taking best action plan to handle the
complex situation.
Part B:
Question 7:
The level of creativity in the people can be measured in having the power of explaining the
action taken, generation of new ideas and opinion, and asking questions for expanding the
power of creativity. The quality of work can be effectively improved by applying effective
EQ by analysing the situation. Yes, it is a good way to measure creativity because by asking
question to our self helps in gaining advantage to improve the work quality (Kivlighan,
2015). Yes creativity can be measured on generating the ideas, and vision to resolve the
complexity of the problem.

Question 9:
The five factor model of personality is divided into five phases which are categorised as
openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. The artistic and
cultural experience of the user helps in improving the predictability in applying situation by
applying emotional intelligence (Jada, Jena, and Pattnaik, 2016).

1. The learning outcome of intelligence by completing this entry is the social awareness
helps in taking effective decision according the complexity of the situation
2. The learning outcome which I gain during the completion of the entry is application
of creative thinking in generating new ideas to handle the situation or improving the

2. Entry 8: Diversity In intelligence
Part A
Question 2:
The autism spectrum disorder is the disability in performing verbal and non-verbal
communication. The human intelligence can be affected by autism spectrum disorder and
down syndromes. It can be of different types such as persuasive developmental disorder,
childhood disintegrative disorder, Rett syndrome, and Asperger syndrome. Down syndrome
is the genetic disorder which shows delay in the mental and physical growth of the children.
The similarities between them are both effects the communication power of the children
(Runsten, 2017). The ASD children can learn things better but not able to show it in their
daily curriculum activities whereas the learning power of Down syndrome children is very
low.
Question 3:
The learning disability is the diversification of intelligence because it shows different people
has different ability to learn and extract things effectively and in efficient manner (Khosravi,
Manafi, Hojabri, Farhadi, Gheshmi, 2011). The processing of receiving and reacting on
information gained is different for disabled persons. They are not able to show their emotions
and feelings on their success or failure in performing the activity. The intelligence should be
applied for motivating the disabled persons to give their best in completing the activities. The
guidance should be given to them for bringing success. The human intelligence experience in
handling the people who faces learning disorder can be enhanced (Ford, 2015).

Question 6:
Giftedness is the intellectual ability of the people to explore their capability in handling the
real life situation. The learning ability of the individual is different in every stage of life span.
The intellectual thinking process goes strong with the learning experiences of the life (Deary,

Penke, and Johnson, 2010). The children and nephews are having less scope of handling
situation. Therefore, they need their parent assistance to cope up effectively with the problem.
Question 7:
The positive and negative aspect of giftedness can be measured with the application of
intellectual ability (Hacker and Washington, 2017). The following table helps in exploring
the positive and the negative behaviour of the gifted children:

and psychological power of the children. The test which helps in summarising the learning
ability of the children are:
a) Linguistic test: The ability to speak and communicate efficiently
b) Logico-Mathematical Test: In carrying out mathematical problems
c) Interpersonal Test: Behaviour of the children in interacting with other people
The tests are applied at infancy because it helps in getting knowledge of the behaviour or sign
of disability at an early stage so that the disabled children can be provided with extra care and
affection (Arden, Luciano, Deary, Reynolds, Pedersen, Plassman, Matt, Christensen, and
Visscher, 2016).
Question 4:
The pros and cons of intelligent testing in adolescence are that it helps in exploring the inner
ability and talent of the children. The application of intelligence test provides them an
opportunity to show their inner calibre for getting things done in a right manner. The
disadvantage of intelligence testing is that the low score of the students can create a feeling of
demotivation depression, and behaviour of negligence (Browne, 2017). The ability to explore

The benefits of technology on human intelligence help in following ways

The social media has a large impact on the emotional intelligence of the humans because it
helps in providing learning experience of the common people in facing bad time of their life.
The uploading of graphics and images helps in analysing the feelings of the people. The use
of artificial intelligence affects the social life of the people (Antonakis, 2014). The
communication through the social media helps in developing strong and healthy relationship
with family and relatives who are geographically apart. This plays an stronger artificial
intelligence medium because it helps in analysing the behaviour of friends and family by
having geographically apart from them.
