Introduction:
The real-life project management is a process which comprises of different levels or steps
like the initiation, planning, implementation and proper execution and closure of the project
(Turner, 2014). However, in order to meet the deadline, there are lots of steps which the
company needs to achieve. For the following working as a "Manager Research and New
Product development" for the company XYZ, the purpose is to research and develop a report.
The study is done based on the fact that the company XYZ is entering the television market,
after selling appliances to the people whose response was fascinating enough. Therefore,
based on the report there are different methods, tools, and techniques which are used for the
planning and execution of the project. Lastly based on the theories and evaluation proper
conclusion are provided which would help in the future manufacturing process of the
company.
LO1:
P1: Review and the Critique of the operational management:
The strategic management is the process of understanding the different business environment
and also developing the desired state for the performance of the company XYZ. This will
help to implement the strategy and improve the performance (Jacobs et al. 2014). When the
operation management principles are being inculcated to the company XYZ it will help the
company to gain the goals and the objectives set by the company in order to manufacture the
television.
Other than that, since the principles are of set rules therefore, it will also help the company in
order to stay on the track. Furthermore, using the operational principles for the company
XYZ helps in planning, organising and supervising the processes which is taking place during
the entire project of television manufacture. The principles also support the company’s
objectives and goals so they are able to have the deeper analysis and a proper measurement
for the current processes. The use of the operational management also supports the skills of
the employees and the organisation:

M1: Review of implementation management using different approaches:
The use of the operational management is the method which could be used for the planning,
organizing and supervising the entire process so that the company is able to make all the
necessary improvements for having a higher profit. The use of operational management is
mainly in terms of manufacturing and production (Kerzner and Kerzner, 2017). There are
different methods and functions which are used by the company so that they are able to get
the proper and effective growth in terms of the production and management of the company.
However, for completing the operations on a day to day basis there are different approaches
which are implemented by the companies. In the following study, the approaches and the
principles which are used by the company XYZ for proceeding with the manufacture and
production of 58-inch television are the lean principles of operation management and Six
Sigma.
Lean approach:
Using the lean approach for the following study there are five lean manufacturing principles
which are used: value, flow, pull, value streams and perfection.
Value: The value of the product is set by the producers based on the response of the
consumers for their previous products. As per the report, the response of the consumers for
the other appliances which are sold by the company is better. Therefore, the producers will be
able to target the consumers who are giving the better response for other appliances (Larson
and Gray, 2015).
Value streams: Value streams mainly depend on the materials which are used for the
manufacturing. Therefore, most of the appliances which are sold by XYZ and they are being
disposed of by the consumers, this could be helpful as it brings value to the product and also
proper recycling of the disposed of material.
