INTRODUCTION
The operation management is refer to one type of business practices which is highly
important for organization to run their functions smoothly. The major role of this department is
to convert the raw materials in to complete product. But project management is defined as
application of various methods, process, experience, knowledge and skills which is beneficial for
company in aspect of completing the project successfully in prescribed time. It is basically
compressed into various stages which includes planning, initiation, and execution, monitoring
and closing of project. Here the chosen company is Next PLC which is established in 1864 and
the company was established in United Kingdom. This organization is dealing with various types
of products which includes footwear’s, grocery items, clothing etc. The report will covered
introduction of chosen organization, an explanation of operation vs. operational management. It
further covers a review and critique of the implementation of operations management principles
within your chosen organization.

Company Next PLC is a highly popular brand in United Kingdom and this brand is
providing their services and goods to consumers internationally. This firm is facilitating all types
of products and services to their users according to their wants and desires which includes home
appliances, footwear, clothing etc(Xu, 2021, August). It is the largest retail based company in
aspect of generating revenue because of using highly qualified employees. Due to facilitating
wide range of products the reputation of company is easily maintained in market for long time.
The organization is also providing high employment at global level in around 41574 people.
An decryption of operation vs. operations management
The operation in company is defined as those type of activity where organization is
engaged on regular basis regarding enhancing their revenue and value at maximum level. The
major reason for carrying different activities by company is to sustain their profit in market
effectively. The different types of functions which are carried by firm in their business are
manufacturing, accounting, marketing and so on. Due to the effective use of these type of

functions company easily achieved competitive and other advantage in market within short
duration.
But operations management is defined as management of whole activity and employees
of organization. The main purpose of operations management is to converting the raw goods into
finished product and also for train the employees in effective manner. Due to providing effective
training to workers they are able to provide high quality products and services to customers in
long time. It is basically one type of practice which is adapted by firm for maintaining the cost
and also for increasing their portfolio effectively.
A review and critique of the implementation of operations management

The operational management is basically one type of process which is used by the organization
for ruining their day to day activities in business effectively. The main purpose of utilizing
operations management is to use of various resources within company which includes
machinery, workers raw, goods and others in efficient way. With help of various resources
company is able to deliver quality service to clients in long term. The various principles which is
used by company are described below -
Reality – Here management is concentrating on all types of complexities which is
harmful for growth of company. Large problems are totally opposite to smaller methods
which is a part of issues. In context to Next PLC, higher authority is needed to
concentrate on development and training of workers in each step of company and those
steps are top, middle and lower level management(Halim, 2019).
Organization – In this stage all types of activities and practices are interlinked with each
others. In respect of Next PLC, management of manufacturing unit are adapted with
filters which help in decreasing the erosion and chemical during the time of conducting
production process. It is also beneficial for managing plant and factories in good
atmosphere. In manufacturing unit regular checks are done on regular basis and due to
this the problems are identified in time.
Accountability – This principle is showing the members of company who are highly
responsible for managing the operations. The manager of organization must have checks
and balances to accountability. In respect of Next PLC, authority is required to provide
advanced training to their workers in every step and keep effective monitoring on them at
